Hi - I was curious about the sizes of your Biewers -- they seem on the bigger side -- with mom's of 10 and 12 lbs? I got my first Biewer last year and I thought the size range was 4-8 lbs. for the breed standard. Are you intentionally breeding larger dogs? How big do the pups from these pairings generally get? I thought I had the one "big" Biewer - he was supposed to be 6-7 lbs but I think he's easily 10 lbs, at 15 months. Not sure how he got so big -- he's not overweight, just a big boy. Whoever gets your little guys will be one lucky person - Biewers are awesome. |
Yes , obvious they are on the bigger side . No , I do not breed intentionally for BIG nor do I intentionally breed for tiny . Mom is big and has whelped 3 beautiful litters including this one. Though the 2 past litters were on the standard side, 7 and under . She's a beautiful girl that would have done great in the ring as her structure, coat , head, ear set are perfect . Reason I used her for breeding because this breed lacks of good spring in the ribs, movement , depth of chest and structure . She is what any breeder would consider a brood but perfect bitch. To bring in such qualities into the breed even if she's on the bigger side . I don't hide the sizes of my dogs nor make my buyers think any of my dogs will be either smaller or bigger just to sell . Sorry to hear your dog got on the bigger side if you expected a smaller dog . Which I'm sure is beautiful and the perfect companion. They still make wonderful pets , reason I am selling them as such and at a fair price hopefully to bring some joy into someone's life or family with children . Hope this satisfies your curiosity, yes Biewer are awesome ... Big or small :) |

Do all your customers stay in touch to keep you up to date with sizes of the pups as adults? That would be impressive, too -- I've never said anything to our breeder about our lil guy's size, so she wouldn't know he's bigger than breed standard. And he's just our lovable pup - family pet, pampered and doted on, no desire to breed or show -- so his weight is mostly a running joke for us, as we named him after a very large NFL football player -- we say that's why he got to be super-sized! :) |
What beautiful dogs, Liza! Anyone who gets one of these pups will not be disappointed at all!! I'm sure the perfect 'mommy' is out there!:) |
I like to mention as much as possible about my dogs,. I like to sleep at night :) I have been blessed with wonderful homes for my dogs. Some contact me more than others but yes most usually drop me a line or two to stay in touch, questions or concerns. I like this as we as breeders need to be informed of any issues,. Good or bad as it's the only way we will know what we are producing . If you're breeder didn't advise you the pup may end up on the larger side you may want to notify her as she can document this and keep it in mind for future pairings . As well as give a heads up to the potential buyers it may end up on the larger side. We as breeders need to know as much as we can from our previous breedings so we can fine tune any issues . Big, Med or small.. we love them no matter what but it is essential and our (breeders) responsibility to match up the pup with the right family and hide nothing .. it's the only way all parties involved will be happy . I want my pups to be loved and happy , I want happy owners :) |

I think the best things about the Biewer is the coloring and the sweet temperment. Size is least important unless you're in the show ring. The colors of your boys are gorgeous!! Very black, very gold, very white!! Lovely all around.:) |
Soooo cute. Is he related to Bentley? He sort of favors him in the face. Whoever gets one of your babies, will be very happy. |
Yes he is ! :) |
Liza's dogs are exquisite and you will never find a biewer above standards. They are a-plus quality and Liza is a fantastic breeder and friend. I highly recommend her. ;) |
I emailed you about getting one or maybe both those boys! so cute |
Thanks Jason ,. I'll go check ! |
Thanks Tanya ! :) |

I really really want a Biewer yorkie (love their coats) but unfortunately I am already at my max capacity of 2 animals for my apartment complex (I have a yorkie and a cat). I really don't understand why people chase after "mini"-yorkies. My puppy is 6.5 lbs and sometimes I wish that she was bigger - easier to cuddle with, more sturdy, less worry about stepping on her... Do personalities of Biewer yorkies differ from traditional ones? |
I agree, I like them solid and hearty for all the reasons you mentioned and more. I do seem to think they are a bit diff than the Yorkies. I raised Yorkies for quite a few years. Biewer's seem to be a little more laid back,. less yappers and they don't seem to have that chase instinct . They do love the outdoors and explore but they love to please and are so very very smart and loving ....Quick learners ! :) |
sorry,I just emailed to the link you supplied. waiting for your call! |
Oh WOW how I wish I was ready for a 2nd.... your dogs are gorgeous and I would die for a bigger Yorkie or Biewer, and I do agility... it's not just good timing. :( But wanted to tell you how gorgeous your little guy is. |
Almost 3 hrs ago Jason , Sorry I have nothing in my inbox from you . Maybe send me a PM through Here ,. Yorkie Talk |
Ok sent you a pm! |
Thanks so much Britster, I do appreciate the sweet compliment ! :) |

The German standard is: Weight and Height: Up to 22cm in height and a weight of about 3.1 kg. which translates to roughly 7 pounds and 8.7 inches American standard is: Weight is 4 to 8 pounds I love this being written into the standard :-) Temperament of the Biewer Terrier is intelligent, loyal and very devoted to their human family. They have a fun loving, child like attitude that makes them a great companion for all ages We are so in love with our Biva :-) (pronounced like Diva with a German accent) .. I believe the adopted American pronunciation is Bewer (Bee-you-er) but have also read some people pronounce is Bevaire ..... I have had so so many strange looks and had people laugh as scoff me when I say Biva .. with an Australian accent it sound so much like a Beaver :-P .. this Halloween I'm looking for a beaver outfit for her :-) anyhoo .... I love this fluff buckets ... in the short time we've had her she's given us oodles of joy :-) :-) I love your babies too .. I knda went way off track there but was basically saying regardless of size they make great companions :-) |
Thanks Holly for chiming in ,. I too prefer these guys with a little more size. They sure love to run and jump so it's not so stressful seeing them do so without worrying about fragile bones . Though like you said some small little ones can take the world on and yes regradless of size they are the BOMB !:) Your baby is precious, enjoy her to the fullest !!! |
Weight of my Biewer from Liza I thought I posted this but it did not go through. I have a Biewer of Liza's from her "N" Litter in 2012. He is a year and a half now and he is 6 pounds. He is such a beautiful dog... his personality is so friendly. He and my other dog get along well. He is laid back and lets my first dog lead the way which is wonderful. Whoever gets one of her dogs will be so pleased!!! |
Hi there Hobofan :) Thanks for the reference and kind words, I do so appreciate it !!! <3 |
