Looking for an AKC female puppy in Jax, Fl Or at least close to Jax from somebody trusted. |
Good luck in your search! I'm sure someone will pipe in with a breeder recommendation. You could check the YTCA site. |
Grrr this is worse then hunting for a needle in a haystack lol |
Hi, if you are interested in adopting you can check out Florida Yorkie Rescue. Kit and her husband does wonders caring/vetting/fostering those babies until they are ready to be placed into permanent homes. Good luck in finding your new baby... |
They had a puppy a couple months back I contacted them about and was informed he was $600, which I was rather shocked at the amount for a 2 y/o that was healthy so I asked the simple question of could you explain why that amount and got ignored which rather turned me off. If you can give me a value reason I can understand BUT if you are just out for a profit then no I can't and if you can't answer that question then that leads me to believe profit... Sorry if that is rude of me to say but it is how I feel!! |
Sometimes rescues price the healthly puppies high to help offset the amount that they are spending for the older or sick dogs. |
$600 for a healthy young 2 year old is not a lot. Look at reputable breeder prices and the life span...how many hundred per year should be taken off? In my area $800 for a special needs adult is normal...retired altered breeding dogs also go for that amount. |
Reputable rescues spend so much in gas, car wear and tear, vet bills, special food, some toys & things to keep the poor little dogs busy & entertained, crates, car seats, harnesses, leashes, beds, other supplies, websites, administration, cleaning supplies, medicine and upkeep, they really have to charge what they can get on Yorkies and the more popular breeds or they can't stay in business. |
I respect those answers and if the lady would have nicely explained that then I would be ok with it, but instead you act nasty and rude then ignore my question just leads me to believe you are being shady. Here I can get an 8 to 12 week AKC puppy for $600 to $700 which is what the rescue charges and CKC like Guinness is $450 to $500 |

Not to say dogs sold at astronomical prices are guarenteed anything short if ofteb overpriced. |
Rescues don't make money. That $600 might help one other dog get vetting, but it wouldn't cover much. Many of the dogs at rescues need thousands of dollars in surgeries and care, so $600 really isn't much. Honestly, a 2 year old for $600 is a great deal. I really hope you reconsider rescuing. There are so many dogs out there that need homes... |
I will just NOT from Fl Yorkie Rescue after how rude they were and spoke to us. |

Looking for another dog can be so frustrating and you get your hopes raised so many times and then dashed time and time again. It's not for the faint of heart, is it? |
No not at all, in fact I am headed into the office right now and silently hoping that little girl I was suppose to get did something "terrier" last night and they changed their mind about keeping her :p |

Money is not the issue, I know that is how it sounds but after my experience with the one lady and also there are other reasons I have not gone that route just yet... Key word being yet... If a little girl showed up today on a rescue site that met my needs I would contact them in heartbeat. I know it cost a lot, just spent $400 last week for blood work on mine then $35 for his food another $100 for his medicine and I am sure I will drop another $70 tomorrow at the groomer... Oh yea then of course we have to stop at the toy store if he is a good boy haha :p |
I understand what you mean. I first had gone the rescue way. It took forever for someone to get back to me if they ever got back to me. And when I spoke to them some were plain rude. I am home because of medical so the pup would not be left alone. I am a sucker also so my furkins are SPOILED! I buy the best food, treats and house has toys in every nook. It made me very frustrated and disappointed. All I wanted wast to rescue a pup give him a great home. So now I am going to breeder way. You will find your female. The right one will come along |
When we got our first we were going to have him and only him then later get a big dog, well I never knew I would get the most hyper Yorkie known to man lol so I need a female that can keep up for his play buddy.. Don't get me wrong I would love another but we are really just getting her for Guinness lol |
Are you going to let Guiness pick her out? |
