I would recommend keeping her because you CAN have a dog when you're a student. I am a full time student (I also work part time) and I have two yorkies! Once they are trained, they are really not hard to care for. In the long run, it's really worth it! I don't think I go a day without thinking about my babies. I tell them I love them everyday!! You really can't find love that they provide for you anywhere else. |
This is so sad. Poor puppy. |

I second that. I have a Yorkie, went to school full time, and worked part time. It can be done! |
There are many sad but understandable reasons why a person must give up a dog but school shouldn't be one of them.I have a puppy, work, am in graduate school full time, and am a mother. It can certainly be done. Puppies shouldn't be disposable. I pray they at least spay her first so that she doesn't become a back yard breeder.....that is the least they can do. I just hope the real reason is not her size. |
I echo everyone else. Please reconsider and if you cannot keep her spay her at the very least! Most of the population is not wealthy or financially independent that they don't work. Going to school is not different than working. I don't understand why you cannot make it work and fulfill the committment you established when you brought this furbaby home. If you can't find a good home then consider turning her in to a yorkie rescue :( |
I don't know the background or exactly how long you have had her, but this is a rehome. Presumably the breeder is not going to take her back, I guess. $700 is a lot of money to charge for a rehome. I am also very concerned that you have made no mention of her being spayed. She must be spayed prior to rehoming her otherwise you risk having a person who says one thing like "oh yes of course I will spay her", and then does no such thing. As this pup is only five months old, look just admit you made a mistake in bringing her into what was supposed to be a forever home, and for want of a better word bear the brunt of the financial costs. Afterall, this pup will be ripped out of her home now, and be subjected to another adjustment period where she learns to love again. In fact the more I think about it; the better it would be for your pup if you surrender her to a rescue; there they know how to place pups, will do the spaying and all the health checks prior to placing the pup in a forever home. Very sad situation. |

I think that is EXCELLENT advice! |
This just breaks my heart. If I were closer I would save her, poor little thing. She's going to be so confused. |
