Looking for a Yorkie for my daughters Birthday :) I'm tired of the scams!! I want to get a Yorkie for my daughter for her birthday but the only responses I get are from another country. I would really like to find someone in Washington or Oregon to work with. Thanks!! :animal-pa |
How old is your daughter? |
Looking for Yorkie breeder I am too sick of the scam especially on Hoobly Free Classifieds. Either they are selling yorkie puppies for cheap or giving it away. They just want you to pay the pet transportation service or air fare. No one has a land line for contact. Most responses is from another country. PLease Help |
ytca.org lists breeders and I back when I bred (not yorkies), I always encouraged people to check out the rescues as those dogs are in desperate need. hth, Jo |
I really doubt finding a yorkie in the classifieds section is a good idea. You need to find a good reputable breeder. And if your looking for an inexpensive pup, a yorkie may not be the answer for you and your daughter. |
Hi. I would check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website, ytca.org. They are a very reputable breeders' association. They have a breeder referral page on the site to check for breeders in your state. Please be careful in your search for a breeder. A puppy should not be placed before 12 weeks of age, and there is no such thing as a "teacup". Make sure they have a health guarantee for a reasonable period of time. |
If you live in NY why are you looking in the Washington area, when you can find a reputable breeder near you and you can actually see the puppy, home he is coming from , conditions of where he is living? You certainly wouldnt want a puppy to have to travel via plane if they didnt have to.. Why not check out the YTCA website for breeders in your area. I have to agree if your looking for an inexpensive dog, a yorkie may not be the breed for you. I can tell you that my first year in vetting was well over 1000.00 and thats for a healthy puppy. Spay and puppy shots , heartworm and flea prevention cost just about 1000.00 then she got sick and that was an additional 600.00 for 1 night at the vet, xrays and blood tests. I love my dog don't get me wrong but unless your daughter is in her mid teens it may not be the dog for her. Just saying!!! |
I live in Washington, not NY. |
How old is your daughter? Over 10? Buy the breeder first, then the dog. YTCA.ORG |
