looking to adopt a yorkie in upstate ny Im looking to adopt or pay a reasonable rehoming fee for a baby or young yorkie male or female. I want to surprise my 2 children for their baptism present with a little puppy. My daughter is 4 and my son is 2 and have been wanting a "orkie" is what they call it :) About a month ago I was all set to get a brother and sister yorkie and it turned out to be a huge scam thank god we didnt send any money. But the bad part is it broke my daughters heart:( So I have been searching to adopt a little yorkie to give he/she a loving and happy home and give my children their first puppy. If any one can help me please let me know.....thank you cant wait to hear from you. My email is lilslugger2003@yahoo.com and my name is carley gurtler |
Yorkie Hi Welcome to Yorkie Talk. I am glad that you are taking an interest in the Yorkshire Terrier, they are an awesome wonderful breed, as you can see why I say that lol. :) I really would like you to think about this having a Yorkshire Terrier in your home with small children in the home. These dogs need alot of care ( I dont want anyone to assume that all dogs dont need alot of care) I will be honest with you.... you have to be very careful they can easily be stepped on dropped while holding them . It only takes a second and the damage to the brain, neck, legs etc... to one of these little ones is permanent and devastating. If I had little children in my home knowing what I know having 3 Yorkies I would not get this breed of dog until my kids were older. When my son was small we had 2 beagles they are sturdy hearty dogs. Hope you do not take offense but I really think a heartier breed would be a better choice with the 2 small children. Good luck. |
I have to agree. Please consider a sturdier breed. Yorkies and very young children are not a good combo. Maybe a shihtzu or even a silky? I don't know as much about those breeds, but Yorkies are so easily injured. Good luck in your search. |
