LMAO.......... yeah, my dad told me that toby should get one good hump in before he got neutered, AI takes all the fun out of it for the dogs, poor little hurny guys :p

AI makes it sound like such an impersonal business! I know we live in modern times, but as far as I'm concerned, if any Yorkies (or other kinds of dogs for that matter) are harmed, exploited or treated as chattel in any way then I am 100% against it!!! :mad: But, have a nice day!

Feminvstr..thank you for that info. I did not know that at all about AKC...I have been to breeders kennels where they were doing AI and there was no vet involved..infact I know how to do it myself..soooo I would say many breeders are telling AKC it was a natural breeding on the application, when it was infact AI. Very Interesting! LOL
I would not use shipped semen unless it was some big time champion with all the AKC stuff you must go through, but thats me.

Hi to All,

I have a beautiful 2yr old,3lb Yorkie that I want to breed.The problem is,When I introduce him to a fem in full season he is completely disinterested.
I need advice please.

I'd never pay that amount for pet quality semen. I was told just yesterday I could have a champion stud for service for less than that. Thanks.

Selling tinies for $4000 to $7000 is ridiculous. Don't tell me you are in it for the love of the breed. More like love of money.

A male is not a stud until he breeds..so you have a male Yorkie. Having said that, I hear your frustration..heard the term, Monkey see, Monkey do? Some reluctant males are greatly helped by being around actually breeding studs. When I stared a male at stud I would always allow him to be in the room when I was breeding a female to another stud...not loose, but in a small xpen..
Not all males will breed..it can depend on how spoiled they are or their temperment..best of luck

I have to wonder where your pricing of 'tinies' is coming from ?? When I see monster prices like that I just see so many yorkies being priced out of very good homes.... :( that sure sounds like you're talking about an elite group of people that would be willing to pay those sums of money - $7,000 ??????

I would LOVE to have another yorkie but could never pay prices like that.... :eek: and any yorkie would have a wonderful home with me....just not a 7 GRAND yorkie. :) :)


I'm in the dark on this semen shipping too. I heard people do this but never knew it commanded such a high price.....How does one know what they're getting ? I knew the do this for bulls...but didn't know the market was big for yorkie semen...

this was very interesting to read
