Wanted:Yorkie playmate for 2 yr old Yorkie girl (in IN) I'm in search of a Yorkie, male or female, to add to our loving family. I am a single mom of a beautiful 7 year old little girl and a 2 year old Yorkie. My daughter is unbelievably sweet, kind and caring to any animal she meets and has NEVER been cross or rough with our Yorkie. She has inherited my unconditional love of animals and has already decided that she is going to be an "Animal Doctor" when she grows up! I am currently a stay-at-home mom, who is taking classes online towards a business degree. So we have plenty of time to devote to another precious pooch! My Yorkie is in desperate need of a playmate and would love to share her toys, food and bed with a new best friend. I have searched high and low for a reasonably priced furball all over the state, with no luck. I simply can't shell out hundreds or thousands of dollars for that perfect pooch. So I am turning to this forum in the hopes of finding our new baby. So if you have a Yorkie or know of someone who has one that they either can't care for any longer, or simply don't have the time/love to devote to, I would love to welcome a new furball into our family. I am willing to send pictures of my home, our Yorkie baby, etc. I have an established Veterinarian and keep my girl up to date on all her vaccinations and check-ups. I'm also willing to drive within 200-300 miles from our home (Mitchell, Indiana) to pick up our new baby. I own my home and have a totally fenced in backyard. We love to take daily walks and lots of rides in the car. So if you can help us out, please reply to this post and I will get back to you as soon as possible! We can't wait to shower a new pooch with all the love and attention it deserves!! |

try checking out your local CL...seems like a lot of people are giving up on their yorkie and other pets due to the recession good luck |
Also be sure to check Petfinder.com - and look in the Classifieds section of Petfinder.com too. That is how I found my new little girl; from what I could tell, the Classifieds section of Petfinder.com had a lot of individuals wanting to rehome. :D |

Kijij .com is a great place too |
Thanks for all the great suggestions, I was literally up all night checking them all out! I am sure to find a new furbaby (or 2!) soon. I just wish I could take all of them in. It breaks my heart to read about so many homeless babies :( |

Keep in mind that sometimes the lowest priced dog is not the best deal. You may wind up with enormous vet bills and heartache. If you are going to rescue one in need, then that is comendable! While it is a great service to the puppy, you may wind up spending a lot more. Make that choice for the sake of the pup and not thinking it will save money. I have found from experience that going to a good breeder, paying a little more upfront can save you a lot in the long run. Not only that, but you will get the breed standard which is probably what attracted you to the Yorkie breed in the first place. I want a yorkie that will look like the breed standard, not just to have breeding in mind, but because that is the "look" Ifell in love with. I never realized there was such a drastic range of "looks" being sold as Yorkies. All puppies look cute and beg to be taken home. If you decide to buy one that is not a rescue, look at the parents, look at the history, research the breeder, look at the environment and take your own measure of the way they treat the pups. It is a big decision and one you want to be sure of. Good luck in your quest! |
Melanie - I pm'd you with a little male yorkie...hoping you find the perfect one soon! :) PS - All - how do you get just the link to CL or Petfinder etc. show in your post? I always end up having to copy and paste the entire listing or whatever, because I can't figure out how to post a link. :-( |
I just made this post this morning. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-berea-ky.html It would be amazing if you could get him! |
