Looking for a female Yorkie puppy in Virginia Hello everyone. I am looking for a reputable Yorkie breeder, in the Virginia, Maryland region to adopt a female Yorkie puppy from. I have spoken with a few so far, but had a few questions that I was hoping someone out there could help me out with. We are looking for a female between 4 and 5 ponds, with AKC papers, and champion bloodlines if possible. We are not looking to show her, or breed her. Friends of ours purchased a "Yorkie" from a backyard breeder, that came with AKC papers. The dog ended up weighing over 20 pounds , and looked more like a Silky then a Yorkie. We do not want the same thing to happen to us. So.... 1. How much can I expect to pay. One breeder quoted us $3500, while another quoted $1800. We want a quality dog, but do not want to be ripped off either. 2. Can anyone recommend a breeder? Preferably within driving distance. Thanks in advance for any advice!!!:aimeeyork |
I have a girl that is 15 days old. AKC with champion bloodlines. If you are interested you can pm me and I will give you my phone number and we can talk. |
You're in luck! Some of the top breeders/exhibitors in the country are in your area. They will be showing in Fredericksburg next week and the Yorkshire Terrier Club of the Nation's Capital has their match and meeting this Sunday in Md. If you are interested in a pup from Caraneal, Tiffany, or Thimbletip and would like to contact them let me know. |
Thanks for the info Ladyhawk. Do you have any more info on the dogshow next week in Fredericksburg? I would love to go. I googled it but came up with nothing. Thanks. |

were you able to find a good breeder? and, if you don't mind me asking, who's the breeder that quoted you $3500? i was quoted the same amount (we're in the same area) and you mentioning being ripped off made me a tadbit wary. |

Royal Puppy Paws This is her site, I am paying $2000 for a female, which is a bit steep, I know. She is NOT show quality. I think $3500 is the price for a show quality puppy. |

Hi guys I am a yorkie breeder on the Eastern shore of Md that has Champion Line puppies Tiffany Line. They are 5 weeks old and I am taking deposits now. I also do not charge even half of what I am reading you guys are getting quoted for quality puppies. It sounds like these people are trying to make a fortune on a baby instead of trying to find a loving healthy environment for their babies. |

She does have some gorgeous pups....but did anyone else who looked at the pictures notice that the past puppies pictured with their new families look awefully young? In fact, on the "First Weeks" page where you can see pics as one puppy grows up, it looks like 8 weeks is the last pic she has, and one of the pics may even be of that puppy being held by its new owner. Now, that being said, I got Bella from a BYB when she was 3 days shy of 9 weeks old......BUT it has been my understanding that most "responsible, reputable" breeders keep them until they are at least 10 if not 12 weeks old. (I'll also say that I really LOVED having Bella at 8 1/2 weeks and would have really, really missed all the growing she did between then and 12 weeks old! She had already changed so much by that time.....I'm truly torn by wanting that bonding time and hearing that they need to be with their mothers longer. IMO, Bella is perfectly well-mannered little girl with a very pleasant disposition..she's independent at times, but is still very much a mommy's girl...just hard for me to think that she would have been better off staying with her mother for longer. I say this because, though I noticed how young the babies appear to be when they leave that breeder, I also am not fully sure how I feel about that....just noticed it is all. ;) ) |

I was contacted by this breeder regarding my statement and was told that the pictures I saw on her website of pups with their new families, are in fact pretty young....however, these are pictures of families VISITING their new puppies, not of them as they are leaving. She wanted me to know that these puppies don't leave her home until they are 10 weeks old. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't done any damage since what I noticed in passing was incorrect. And again, I will say, I think this breeders pups are absolutely gorgeous, and if I lived anywhere near VA, I would be very tempted to find my next cutie there :D |
The first pictures of the puppies are taken at my home between they are 7 to 8 weeks old. I also send this pictures to their new families.. Some other ones are from when their families come to visit them.... and from when they come to pick them up!:aimeeyork I will post their age at my website..so there will be any confusion:animal36 |

Hi there I have been breeding AKC Yorkies for almost 30 years. There are several people on yorkie talk, yorkie kingdon, American Kennel Club animal referral or on my FaceBook or web site that can vouch for the quality, size, temperment and health of my babies. All my babies Mommys are Champion Sired and come with a 1 year health guarantee. I have 2 litters available my males are $800.- $900. and my females are $1000.-$1200. |
