Looking for a female Yorkie puppy in Michigan Hi everyone! I'm new to this site. What a wealth of great information that I will be utilizing once I find my little girl! The only problem is that I can't seem to find a puppy in my price-range. :( I can only spend up to $500 for her. All of the ads I've seen are either scammers, or want way more money than I can afford. Does anyone know any breeders or anyone in the SE Michigan area that has Yorkies in my price range? I'm not looking for a super-tiny one...I'd prefer her to be between 5-7 lbs. fully grown. About me: I'm a 31 year old female who lives with my boyfriend and I work from home most days. We have both had dogs in the past. I've had dogs all my life. I've had german shepards, a Peek-a-poo, and a Bichon. The German Shepards passed away of old age, the Bichon is still alive and well (my father had cancer and with all the time spent at the hospital and other things we gave our boy Spunky to my uncle who adores him, so I decided that my uncle should keep him), and my Peek-a-poo contracted the Parvo virus at a young age. I spent over $3000 to try to save her, but God decided that he'd rather have her. If anyone has any information, or can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it immensely! Thank you. :) |

Good luck in your search! I'm in Michigan too! :) |
welcome to YT...glad you found us! Have you checked out petfinder? Or thought about rescuing one...just a suggestion...i hope you find your baby... Yorkie, Roseville, MI: Adoptable Pets: Petfinder |
Check the rescues I adopted my Addison from a rescue, check your local rescues as well as neighboring states. I know it is an overwhelming process, and the wait to see if you are approved can be heart-wrenching. Trust me you will know when it feels right. Don't hesitate to ask specific questions about the health of the prospective adoptee. I realize that "purebred status" can not be guaranteed, but for us it did not matter. If you are willing to wait, you could possibly find the perfect fit for your home. There are so many needing forever homes.:) |
I would like to sincerely thank everyone who responded to my post. I'm sorry for not posting again earlier, but I've been a bit busy...with my new puppy!! I ended up finding my Yorkie from a local breeder that my bf's father knows. And I ended up getting a boy instead, and after just a few days I can't imagine my life without him! He's 9 weeks old now and is the biggest sweetheart ever! Of course, he does have his moments, but I realize he's still only a baby and with the proper training and time he'll be fine. I started crate training him from day 1 and although it breaks my heart to hear him cry I know that in the long run it's the best thing to do. He's slowly getting used to it (it's only been a few days so I know I can't expect much now), and when he's sleepy and I put him in there he just snuggles up in his blanket and falls asleep. Once again, thank you to all who took the time to reply. I truly appreciate it and had I not found my boy so soon after posting my first post I'm sure I would have found a little angel from one of the terrific members who contacted me. Good luck to those looking for families for their little ones! I'll see everyone around the other parts of the forum...I know I'm going to have lots of questions in the coming months! :) |
Yay! Happy ending. Enjoy your new pup! |
