13.5 weeks old male TINY Your name: sandy Your city, state:Illinois Your phone number: 815-923-7578 Your email address:raynedropz@sbcglobal.net Yorkie(s) For Sale: 1 male Age of Yorkie(s):almost 14 weeks Weight of Yorkie(s) parents: mom-4lbs ?oz and dad 2lbs?oz Current weight of Yorkie(s) for sale:1.58lbs Price: 1500 Do you ship your Yorkies: NO Jakey is an almost 14 weeks old tiny male. I bought him from a breeder 2 weeks ago and thought I could be "supermom" and manage 4 dogs and a one year old baby, but I have discovered that I cannot give him all the time and attention he so deserves. The breeder is not intersted in taking him back as she already got paid, SO I am trying to find him a better home that will dote on him and give him all the attention and lap time he loves so much. He is going to be tiny, probably not more than 3.5lbs and most likely closer to 3 as an adult. He is AKC and his color is now black and tan, but when he sheds it out according to the registration he will be blue and gold. He is doing well with housebreaking, not perfect but he does make potty outside- but he is only a baby! He is super with the other dogs in my house and my baby. I am selling him for 1500 and will not just sell to the first buyer, he needs to find a great home where his needs will be priority and he will get a lot of playtime. He has been vetted and is current on shots and fecal exam negative. I will not ship him. He is located about 50 minutes from Chicago and about 30 minutes from Rockford. Very serious inquiries only please. I will also only accept cash on his sale. |
I am sure you willfind him a good home here. He sounds adorable. A picture would help A LOT! |
If for some reason you cant get the pic to resize for here you can email it to me and I will resize it and post it for you. reconsmomma@gmail.com Good luck with your little guy. |
Good luck with finding the perfect forever home for your new pup. I am sure you are having a hard time letting him go. But that is wonderful that you are thinking of the little guy and his needs. Again good luck, I am sure you will be able to place him with a loving family. |
1 Attachment(s) Here is a pic of the little guy. I resized the pic for her and am posting. He really is a cutie. |
Awww, he is so adorable. It sounds like you are doing all the right things in finding a safe, secure and love devoted home for him. Best of wishes :p |
thank you! wow! What a nice message board. I was afraid of how people would perceive someone trying to rehome a puppy. Many people are often so angry at people trying to rehome a puppy or a dog of any age. I appreciate all the positive comments and well wishes in finding him a home. It is going to be hard once someone shows a serious interest, but he will probably be the happiest in a household with more free time. I could give him a healthy, happy and safe home, and he wouldn't ever know the difference, but a place where he can PLAY PLAY PLAY and be held ALL THE TIME (or most of it!)will make him feel like he is a prince, and I do think he deserves that. I will give hiim a good home, but realize there is better out there and that is what I am hoping to find here. thanks again |
I think it is a very honorable thing for you to do. I know what you mean about people getting angry but in your case I think you should be fine. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck and keep us posted. Welcome to YT also. :) :) :) |
aaww, what a cutie pie!!!GOOD LUCK! :D |
Well, i don't know about anyone else but i give you props and a thumbs up because IMO you are doing the best thing for little Jakey.. Good luck with your search |
If you don't mind, can you answer a few ?'s Did you buy him from a breeder on yorkietalk? If not, who did you buy him from? Do you have pics of the parents? Is there a contract to go with him as a health guarantee? |
Yes she did buy him from a breeder. |
He is a cutie!So tiny! |
answers to ACTRESS questions... Thanks for the inquiry....I will answer these the best I can for you :o) Did you buy him from a breeder on yorkietalk? If not, who did you buy him from? I dont think the breeder is on yorkietalk but I dont know that for sure. I bought him from an ad I saw locally in the paper, the breeder was from a private home in Roselle, Illinois. I just wanted a pet, and rather than ship one in I found a local place so just opted to go their to pick out the puppy Do you have pics of the parents? I dont have pics of the parents and dont think I can get them. They were both blue/gold and I know nothing about standards for this breed, but they were quite nice looking dogs, the dad was smaller than the mom and he was 2lbs and some ounces and the mom was 4lbs and some ounces. I have the registration papers (havent filled them out yet since I am selling him) and theiir numbers are on their if that would help?? Is there a contract to go with him as a health guarantee? When I bought him there was a one year health guarantee that only covered life threatening genetic defect, or something severe along those lines, and the deal was an exchange for a new puppy when available and I believe a refund (but not sure, I dont have it in front of me) if nothing was available. He has been vet checked and the only thing noted was he is cryptorchid (only one testicle is evident, but vet assured this is normal and it could become apparent or if they neuter him just pull it down, and for breeding apparently it will not affect him--) Because I am not a breeder I personally do not offer a guarantee, but I would assume that whoever owns him gets that one year out of him if their is a serious problem. If someone is local and wants him and decides after a few days they dont want him I would take him back and just keep trying to rehome him, rather then totally confuse him. This breeder was not willing to take the dog back from me when I decided against him because she already got paid...so that irritated me since her network is probably better than mine...but then I found this site and hopefully it will help speed up the process of networking him and getting him a solid home. I hope this was informative enough. I wish I knew more about the parents, I seem to get that question a lot...:o) Sandy |
Hi Sandy. I hope you find him a good home soon. If I hear of anyone in our area looking for a Yorkie I will let them know about this post of yours! Please keep us updated. Kristy |
jakey thank you! I have an ad for him in the local paper, but so far no serious bites and some people wanted to know if I had a "cheap" one available! LOL Is there such thing? I was actually shocked myself to find them to be so high priced, but on the good note of that if someone is serious about a dog, they will spend the money. I think higher prices deter some people from just rushing out a buy a dog. I dont want to sound hypocritical, because I do know how to manage dogs (I have 3 others), but as you all know yorkies are not quite like other dogs. I am amazed at how much Jakey seems to think about things, they are super smart...certainly he seems smarter at 14 weeks now than my other 3 combined! Maybe that is why I am feeling inadequate for him, he is more complex than other puppies I have been exposed to. Either way, again I appreciate your kindness and any further positive exposure this little one gets the better! |
negotiable? i would really like to see him in his forever home soon..........$1350????? |
If his other testical does not become evident, you should really consider selling him with limited registration as undescended testicals appear to be genetic. If we all continue to stay responsible with what we are doing then we are one step closer to keeping the breed sound. Best of luck finding him a wonderful home. He is precious!!! |
There is a thread that discusses this problem here on YT. I was told by 2 different vets and a breeder of 20+ years that normally both testicals are present (not dropped, but present) by 6-12 weeks of age. The other could be there, just really high up and hard to find. If unchanged, an intact testical that has not descended could potentially become cancerous. By the way, I would not consider this "normal" it is however common in small breeds but is not something that any breeder, or responsible breeder I should say, does not wish for in his or her stock. Not knocking you by any means- you have stated that you do not now too much about this, and that is fine. I just know that any bit of information that we get along the way always helps in the future. |
I wish you were closer to me becasue I would so love to get him, unfortunatly right now I am in vegas, and my regular home is in Idaho. Good luck on finding him a home. He is a sweetie |
descending testicle.. Just to clarify... I am not the breeder, I just bought him from one as a pet intending to neuter him anyway. I decided days after I bought him that I didnt think I should keep him, and when I called the breeder to tell her that I didnt want to keep him AND that he did only have one testicle evident (but like you all said, the other is most likely up there, and for all I know is now evident...he has another appt on the 30th, so we will recheck then) and perhaps this could be considered a "flaw" (since her "return" policy was only for defective dogs, and I figured a dog for that much money that was not perfect ought to be compensated for or AT LEAST she should have taken him back and offered me an exchange (even though the testicle wasnt really a problem, just hopefully enough justification to return him to somone who could easily find him a new home) rather than act like the idiot she ended up being and tell me she couldnt take a dog back that had already been exposed to other dogs (which means she obviously must NEVER take dogs back that have been sold into homes already having dogs?????). In fact, she really should never even leave her house and then return, since dog viruses are all over and could be tracked in on the bottom of a shoe!!!! I am not going to knock people who breed to pay their bills, though I do have my opinions on that type of breeding reasoning, but I do think all breeders should care about the stock they produce and when charging a lot for a puppy, they should not be picky about the problems their buyers have when not satisfied, because of my experience with her ignorance, I will not recommend her to a breeder whenever anyone asks me where to locally get a dog. Jakey is a great little dog and hopefully his other testicle will become evident (as it is too early for it to drop, most likely, I think that happens in a few more months), but I agree he shouldnt be bred if this is genetic, and anyone interested in breeding would most likely not buy him because of this anyway. I didnt know this was a genetic thing, thanks for offering the info. I doubt the breeder knows this, perhaps I will enlighten her. |
Jakey I hope you find someone to take him :) I understand your dilemma sorry I wish I could have another one but my hubby would say me or the dog. My sisterinlaw is looking for a pup but cant afford Jakey. Good luck I cant imagine having three and a baby so I feel for you!! :) :) Jack and Mandy's Mom :aimeeyork :aimeeyork |
shipping I have decided that I will ship little Jakey, just in case a wonderful home is not within a reasonable driving distance. I am not sure what this costs, but I just wanted to throw the option out there. |
hi!! welcome to YT. i'm sorry you have to give up your baby, but thumbs up for thinking of him. i'm sure you'll find him a great home on here, just give it some time, he sure is a cutie! |
Found a forever home Just to let you all know that Jake found his forever home today! If I could have designed a perfect person to take little Jakey, the woman who bought him fit that perfectly. I am confident he will live a fabulous life with her. thanks to you all who were hoping for his best- he got it. |
Yay! I'm so happy! Did you tell her about Yorkie Talk? She should definitely join so we can see more pix of Jake! |
