Want to adopt or rescue in Florida
 
My husband and I are looking to adopt or rescue a yorkie in Florida. We live in central Florida but are willing to drive a few hours. We would prefer a younger yorkie, as in under a year old. Willing to pay an adoption/rehoming fee of up to $300. We have no preference as to if the yorkie is a boy or a girl. We are not looking to breed at all. We just want to give a Yorkie a loving home.

It may take us a while to find our baby as we don't have a lot to pay upfront for the dog, so that we will have to money to take care of the precious thing. Plus I need some cash left over to spoil it! :)

Hi welcome to YT. I'm mom to four rescues. Try searching Petfinder.com: Adopt a pet and help an animal shelter rescue a puppy or kitten.. I will tell you that the average adoption fee is $400.00 but that will include the shots and the spay or neuter which is a great deal. Finding a little one under a year old may take a lot of time but it is possible. If you are open to a Yorkie up to age two or three years old you will find one almost right away. Believe me when I tell you that even a Yorkie two or three is still young and is so appreciative of finding a home. You can also search www.google and type in Yorkie rescue florida and see what pops up. You won't regret adopting. It is so rewarding. Elaine

We are also thinking about buying now, so that I know more about what I am getting into. Still willing to adopt/rescue if the right dog comes along. But if we are going to buy, meaning spending a little more on the pup we will probably be looking to do that early Oct. Spending $600-$700 for probably a male :) Just looking for a pet, not looking to breed.
