I think Morkies are the best of both breeds..hehe...they are so cute! |
1 Attachment(s) Sergeant is a Morkie. He's pretty AWESOME. lol. The only thing i've noticed is that he's a little longer in the body than purebred yorkies, but still as small. Picture of Sarge at 12 weeks. |
He's adorable. :D |
I have 2 Morkies and they are very sweet. Our vet said they are very healthy and inherited the best of both breeds. It was really funny, they started out looking like Yorkies in their coloring when they were tiny and now Annie is a platium blonde and Sam is a golden color(3 years old). I think the lady that suggested an adoption had a great idea. No matter what the breed, they truly are man's best friend. |
Wonderful cross mix, best of both worlds, would happily have a "housefull of these" in a heartbeat |
Like everyone has said; don't support people who breed these dogs on purpose to make money, adopt a rescue or shelter dog :) |
1 Attachment(s) My Max is a Morkie :) HOWEVER, knowing now what I learned from this board...I would not buy from a breeder like the one I got Max from (who breeds mixed breed dogs). Max has had and continues to have health issues. |
I LOVE my Morkies!! I too was told by my Vet that these mixed breeds tend to have fewer health problems because somehow the "bad" is bred out. Mine haven't had any problems either. I did buy from a breeder, but I didn't spend a fortune. Probably less than some are selling for one I got two including the "Pet Air". I researched a lot and only found schetchy breeders around my area. They wouldn't let me see the puppies or go to the house...etc. So I found one out of state and have never regretted my decision. The breeder and I still keep in touch. However, I do understand those that discourage mixed breeding. When I had my Cocker Spaniel, I didn't like seeing a Cocker mix at all. I thought it took away the beauty, but with the back/hip and ear problems...and the dementia he took on...just made me sick. |
I have a litter of Morkie babies and they WILL NOT be leaving until they're 12 weeks! I refuse to even take a deposit on them until they're 4 weeks and had someone get mad because they didn't want to wait :( That just told me they would not make a good home. |
