WANTED: yorkie male or female for little or no cost
 

I am in the Vancouver WA/Portland OR area and I am looking for a yorkie. I have wanted one for many years but cannot afford the price of buying one from a breeder. I currently own my own home, have a fully fenced yard, 2 other dogs, ad 2 cats. I am looking for something inexpensive because I am getting married next year, and a lot of my finances are going to that. I couldn't justify spending a lot of money to get a dog. The vet bills are one thing, but just to get the dog is another. If any one knows of anything out there, please let me know.

try searching through rescues. there will be some cost to getting a dog but at least its justified because you saved a life.

Good luck finding your Yorkie and Congratulations in your upcoming nuptials. I agreed maybe is best if you adopt a Yorkie from a shelter. The pups that Kristy posted are perfect I think. Good Luck. :)

Those are just to cute.....Makes me wish I had a bigger house and lots more money to afford to take care of all the puppies that need forever homes. Well it would have to be even bigger because I am the same way with kids too! I would adopt 100 of them if I could afford it!

I've looked at those on Petfinder, and they are adorable, but right now I could only afford one, not two, as I have 2 other dogs. The two that were for sale in the Oregonian went very quickly, so my search will go on. I'm willing to wait to get exactly what I want. Thanks for all the help so far!

How about checking out the Vancouver Humane Society (2323 NW 26th Street Ext, Vancouver, WA 360-693-4746) See if they have any Yorkies that need homes.

Or, check out some Yorkie Rescues. I looked at some websites and I found some Yorkies that need homes in your area (Washington)

Original Bio: Hello, my name is Henry.
That is what the nice lady that found me called me and I am a 5.6 pound yorkie mix. I was so glad that she found me 'cause I was kinda tired of bein on the streets. Sure, baths and havin your teeth clean once in a while isn't that fun, but I smelled so bad, was so dirty and matted that I couldn't stand it any longer. I couldn't eat anything but soft food 'cause my teeth were rotten. So I found myself a nice lady that would bath me a whole bunch of times until I was clean and she gave me the best food I had had in a long time. Then she called my foster mom and told her my story. Couple days later I was on my way to my new foster mom. Yesterday I went to see the dentist/doctor. I had the whole works! I am a very health boy. Can you believe it, the dentist took 18 of my teeth. No wonder I smelled so bad. My teeth were so bad that he couldn't even tell me how old I am. Best guess, I might be around 6 years old. My back end is a little swollen, but the doctor thinks that it might be because no one ever loved me enough to have me neutered. He said that should go away now since I'm neutered now. I think that I remember someone teaching me some things 'cause sometimes when she tells me to sit I remember what I am supposed to do. I get lonely though. If I am left alone when I'm not sleeping then I cry. I just want someone to love me forever and ever and spend lots of time with me. My foster mom thinks I look mean 'cause of my under bite, but honest, I'm not. I'm really sweet.

Hi, my name is Maggie.
I am between 10-12 years old we think and weigh 4 pounds 8 ounces. My mommie (two legged) passed away a year ago and then I was taken to live with a lady who was not very nice to me. She didn't ever take me to the vet and never groomed me. My other mommie's son found me and rescued me though and took me to a very nice ladies house. She cut my hair way down because it was so matted. She also gave me something to get the buts off of me. They were so bad that they just made me feel miserable. That lady took me to my foster mommie at UYR. Now I am staying with her and her family of fur babies. I get a lot of good food and she took me to the doctor. He told her that I had anemia and really bad teeth. I also have a hump on my back where the bones have fused together from an old injury that wasn't taken care of. I am taking medication for the infection in my mouth. My foster mom said that they can't do the dental for about another week because I have to get the infection better first. I guess I am doing really good now but still have some problems I am trying to work out. My right leg hurts a lot and I can't walk on it sometimes and I hold it up in the air. At first the doctor thought I had something really bad wrong with me because my blood cells were all very very bad. But with the medication and care it has come almost back to normal. He said he just couldn't explain it. He said I couldn't possibly have gotten this much better without a blood transfusion. I don't know what that is but I know that I feel lots better and I don't need one now. My foster mom thinks it might have been the horrible bugs (fleas) because sometimes that can cause anemia if there are lots of them and you have them a long time. Guess maybe them nasty bugs were drinking all my blood. Yuk!! I sure am lucky that my first mommies boy found me and took me to that nice lady.
Anyway, someday I want to get all better and go live with a nice forever family. I am going to be very pretty when my hair grows back. My foster mom says I am a real princess in waiting. Whatever, I think I am a princess now! I don't know for sure how long before I am all fixed up but I will let you know when I am ready for a loving forever home. Oh, by the way. I am living in Washington State.
