Seeking puppy or adult Yorkie (Phoenix, AZ) We are seeking a puppy or adult Yorkie in the Phoenix, AZ area. We are open to traveling to a nearby state to pick up our new Yorkie if it seems to be a good fit. Seeking reputable breeder and willing to take our time for right fit. Have tons of experience with the Yorkie breed and are excited to add to our family. I'm interested in leads of any kind as well as direct contact from reputable breeders interested in placing a pet quality Yorkie. I will definitely spay/neuter and am not set on either male or female. And yes, I'm already scoping out the rescue organizations. Thanks in advance! |
Just wanted to welcome you to YT and say good luck in your search. Sounds like you have done your research and are ready for your furbaby. Hope you find one soon and look forward to seeing pics of your new little one soon! |
Hi, I am also looking for a yorkie in Phoenix area.. I have a thread on general yorkie discussion about purchasing an 8 week old puppy. I received some great advise. Check it out I am also waiting for a response on where to find a good breeder in our area. I was told to look on the YTCA website. You are looking for a male of female which is easier. I want a female. So if you get some info let me know as well and I will do the same..welcome.. |

Hi Arnala. Welcome to YT. If you are looking for pet quality and as you said you open to a puppy or an ADULT please check out the Yorkie Rescues or www.petfinder.com. I'm mom to rescues and it's not only very rewarding but it saves you money too because your Yorkie will come to you already spayed or neutered which I know in NJ is a savings of about $350.00 plus they are vetted, dental done etc. The normal adoption fee through rescue is around $300 - $400 for puppy or an adult although sometimes the adults are a little less. And, the money goes back into helping others waiting. Pure bred Yorkie puppies although scarce are available if that is what you want. I got Lilly at 13 weeks old and she was spayed and had her shots and was vetted etc. Her adoption fee was $400 and she's now 10 months old and beautiful weighing in at just shy of 4 lbs. And an up side of an adult is that you know what they will look like as they've already reached their maturity and in a lot of cases the potty training is complete for you too, as you know Yorkies can be stubborn:) There are a lot of upsides to adopting an adult and the personality too is present so you really know the temperment. Best of luck to you. Elaine |
thank you.. so much.. petfinder is a great place to look. Yorkies here are hard to adopt. They go pretty fast.. |

http://www.notsograndedogs.org has a gorgeous yorkie named Bentley available in AZ for adoption. I would love to adopt him, but I already have a zoo with 2 yorkies, a bassett hound and 2 cats. |
welcome to YT! |
Don't want to hijack the thread, but there are a LOT of you in the Phoenix area! We go there all the time to visit my grandkids. If anyone would be interested in meeting up sometime I would love it. We always bring ours with us when we travel. Sonya |

so cal babies I have boys in so ca. if you're interested in traveling that far for a puppy. (We're forty minutes from Disneyland and other amusement parks if you want to do other things while you're out.) My boys are pet litter quality and love to snuggle! I have to find homes for them soon - I now have too many dogs according to city ordinances. I may be fined if I try to keep them! :( Hope you find the perfect little guy or girl for your family! Lovin\' Yorkies, C. |
A lady who goes by the name of gleim516 on here lives in Yuma, AZ PM\'d me two days ago that she has a female born on December 27th, 2007 available. You may want to PM her and see if she still has the pup available. I wrote her back yesterday but she has not responded back yet. I also love rescue dogs!!! That is the most wonderful good deed you can do for any dog of any breed. I would try a local rescue group there. Phoenix is a pretty big place. Good Luck!!! |
