Searching for a excellent quality Yorkie male
 
Well, there's a possibility that I may not get the puppy I originally wanted...:( The owner of the grandparents needs to give permission, since he has champion lines (which I completely understand), and she is in bad health and may not be available to contact. So I need to keep my options open, just in case.

That being said, I am looking for a small male, preferably between 3 and 5 lbs full grown. I will NOT consider one smaller than 3 lbs, only because Ryder will probably never make it to 2 1/2 lbs, and I'm afraid he may never be able to breed. This is one reason why I'm searching for another male, just in case Ryder isn't fertile. He must be excellent quality...I have a particular standard I am looking for, and he must meet that standard.

I would prefer a male with champion lines, as I would love to show in the near future.

He DOES NOT have to be ready to go now. I would prefer to come and pick him up, but it really depends on how far away the right little boy is from me.

She has some males for sale and they all have pretty nice pedigrees.

Why don't you contact Ponderosa Yorkies? They are in Western North Carolina and have show quality Yorkies.

Small male
 
Why can't you breed your small male? It isn't like a small female. It doesn't risk their lives. In my experience, you want to see a dam on the larger size and the male tiny to make sure the dam is able to have the puppies and they are all w/i the size range. I was just wondering.

If you are really thinking about showing your dog in the future 3 lbs is pretty small, even for a male.

Huh? :confused: You mean Ryder? I'm not concerned about his size in breeding, just that he may never be fertile or be able to breed. I will definitely breed him if he's able...;)

That's just a range. My ideal is more 4-5 lbs.

Thanks, I just emailed them. I know some breeders around here who have their dogs.

Well, I've been advised by about 5 breeders now that he may not be since he's so tiny. He does have both testicles though, so it's no telling until he's 14 months or so...I guess I'll just have to wait and see. ;)

Ha, I just live with my mom temporarily but she understands I'm taking steps to better my breeding program as I go. She was nice enough to let me move back in until I can afford to put a down payment on my own home since I just broke up with the man I was supposed to marry recently...:p I have my own income though and I've been an adult for several years now, so I don't need my moms permission to get my dogs. :rolleyes:

Hhmmm Oh ok. I'll have to research that. I've never heard that before.

I bet he's a cutie. How old is he?
