Looking for a teacup yorkie in CA :love:
 
:love: I am a college student and I am looking for a little ball of joy to be my companion :animal36: I live in La Jolla, CA and go home to visit my family in Ventura County, CA regularly. I am looking for a baby teacup yorkie under 1000 so if you are willing to sell one of these little sweethearts, please let me know :animal-pa:

Please don't buy from a breeder that sells teacups. There is no such thing and they either don't know any better or are in it for the money. You will have enough vet bills without a dog that is purposely bred that small.

I'm sure you will find the perfect dog for you.

There is no such thing as a teacup. It's a term breeders use to charge more money for small pups which end up coming with many medical problems and usually die at a young age. you should not buy from a breeder who sells teacups as they are not a responsible breeder. And should you choose to get a "teacup" you will not find one under 1000. Layla is 6.5 lbs and she costs 1000. I hope you find a healthy pup!

Welcome to YT in your search for your fur baby..I would just like to make sure that you really do your research with regards to the care of a yorkie while being a college student .Being in college is tough enough and adding a furbaby to the mix can be taxing too!! They are really time consuming and require a lot of attention!! at least i know mine does!!! He is mommy dependent!!! :) I know we have some college students here that have yorkies and they can probably give you some insight on the college and yorkie life!! LOl Good luck on your search for your fur baby and you will get a lot of good information here!!!

good post! as a univeristy student i HIGHLY recommend getting him/her at the begining of your summer holiday. Layla was up at least 3 times a night when we first got her to go pee... and she took about a month to get fully potty trained so it would be great if you oculd be home with him/her at first :)

can i please not have repetitive responses. I know my duties as a parent because i have had two dogs in my life so far and i am very responsible. i am home more often than those who have dogs and work. i know what im doing but thank you for ur awareness.

lol its okay don't take it to heart!! we are avid yorkie lovers here and any response you get from here is all done with concern and love!!! No one is saying your not responsible..we are just giving you some good repeat good solid feedback to your question..which started out with a misconception on your part about teacup yorkies which don't exist..we just want to be sure you have all bases covered on your search ....its obvious you are responsible as you came to this site to get informed!! :) Have a Great Day and continue to post!!!

I was umbarassingly unknowledgable (compared to what i've learned on here) when i bought Layla and we just want to make sure you are fully informed before putting a lot of money into a yorkie. Please don't be offended.

dont worry. i am not going to buy the yorkie until i have played with her and have talked to the breeders. or else i will just go to a pet store and buy her there.

no. a dog from the pet store still needs a loving home. and conditions there are horrible so of course id get one from there. i saw one the other day but the puppy was a boy and i wanted a little girl

oh i'm not being rude... i'm being honest. Small toys dogs who are at a petstore usually come from puppymills. that's why there are so many of them. Puppymills are where many dogs are produced from one female... heat after heat and often have health issues and really bring down the breed. They are often very sick and underfed so that they stay small and then people will want to buy them. buying from petstores supports the puppymills soemthing many of us on here are very passionate about stopping. if you think i am being rude it must be the way you are reading thing.. i want nothing more than for you to get a healthy puppy and i'm just trying to help.. but since you asked.. i'll stop trying to help.

i don't have a baby female yorkie and good luck getting a healthy "TEACUP" because i guarantee whoever is still going to sell you this puppy after hearing the way you talk about getting it from a pet store will definetly be selling you a possibly unhealthy teapot (teapots rule). do some research on the breed don't just be getting a puppy because britney spears or whoever is doing it.

did anyone ever think that by me saying teacup i simply meant small dog like the runt of the family? thanks for the attacking. this place was a waste of time. im just going to go to a breeder

No one is attacking you here....just trying to help! SHHESE! A runt can sometimes end up being the biggest one of the liter when fully grown!

I don't think anyone is being rude at all, I wanted a yorkie for a very long time heck you could even ask my hubbie I packed around books about them for 2 yrs but I waited until I was done with cosmetology school so I had the time to give the attention she needs & I waited until I could afford to give her as much as I wanted (not to say that makes you a good or bad parent) I just knew I wanted to spoil her abs rotten. What I'm trying to say is even though I read all those books everything pales in comparison to what you learn right here there are alot of things I learned "after" the fact the right food, right treats, right oral care & yorkies known fav toys, how to litter train her & lots more I cannot remb right at the moment FACT is I learned it all here, everybody tries to look out for everyone & give out very informed & honest opinions no need to get offended.

buying from a pet store would be your biggest mistake!!! have you ever heard of puppy mills??? Do some research on those and trust me you won't want a pet store yorkie!!!

This place is only a waste of time if you are not passionate about yorkies. If you are looking for a yorkie because they are more than just *precious*, this is where you want to be.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

You really need to ALOT of research on Yorkies before you just go and buy one. You need to know about all the genetic problems they can have, the illness's that they can get. Just because you find a breeder and you play with the puppy before you buy it doesn't mean it doesn't have something wrong with it. I would suggest that you do all your research on how to find a good breeder and how to raise a yorkie. They are truly different than most other dogs, (raising them to be healthy and happy.) They require alot of time and attention. Also, buying one from a pet store you most definitely will get a unhealthy puppy if they come from puppy mill. Just please do the homework before you make a decision this big, especially if your in school and can't spend the time with your baby that it needs.
