Would like to find daam for little 4lb. cute stud Does anyone know how I would go about finding a daam for cute little stud in Northeast Ohio. I'm not interested in money, only the pick of the litter!!! Thanks! |
I replied to your other post. |
I do not have a dam for you, but I do live in NE Ohio. Where are you located? I live in Lake County. |
It probably will be really hard to find a dam for your boy. Is he proven? Has he had all the health testing he needs? What are his lines and the health of his ancestors? These are some questions the owner of any female should ask. Also, most will not give pick of litter..Yorkie litters are so small and a litter of one is not uncommon. What will you do if that happens? You will be asking questions of the dam's owner. Has she been tested for STD's? What is the health of the dam and her family? What will dam's owner do if there is a litter of one? What kind of written agreement will the two of you have? There is so much more to breeding than putting 2 dogs together to make puppies. I am sure you will find some info in past posts about the selection of parents for puppies. Your baby will always be your baby whether you breed him or not. He will be loved no matter what.. |
I live in Akron |

Thanks so much for your help. |
I wanted to point out one more consideration and if you read past posts in archives you will see it has been mentioned several time. You can be reasonably sure your male will become a leg cocker and may not stay the nice little boy you now have. Many males have been re-homed because of the problems after they have been used as stud..He might go from a great pet to a less than great stud male.. |
What do you mean by a "leg cocker"? He already cocks his leg. |
What is it with these testosterone machines?? I had a male that hiked his leg and peed out the side of the crate when he was 2+ months old..Best little stud, though, and makes beautiful puppies.. |
