Wanted: show male I have been wanting to get a show yorkie male for awhile now. My daughter wants to show him in breed and juniors. She has two show dogs, Chinese Crested and a Chihuahua, she has been showing for awhile and would love to have a male as she doesn't want to mess with the heats. The breeder has to live in Illinois so I can drive to their home. He does not have to be a pup, but has to be 3 yrs or under. I can't pay the full price of a show dog but can do $650. I do not mind co-ownership as long as you don't control my life, lol! and would eventually like to outright own him. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Tricia, I hope you find what you're looking for, but you might have to save up a little longer to afford a quality yorkie to show. Good luck! :D |

male You want a show male for $650 and the breeder can not tell you what to do with him...think about it...how many actual show breeders will agree to these conditions...? Start by going to shows non-stop, ask to join a regional club if possible, join an all breed club, meet breeders, be open to learning and at some point they will start trusting you. There is only one way to get a really good show dog without lots of money (and then it can be very hard)..and that is to earn a breeders trust, prove yourself and it takes time...good luck |
If you seriously want a dog to show you will have to be reasonable on what the price is on what you want. Sometimes you have to save a few years to get the things you want in life, even if its a new car or furniture. Breeders work hard and are on call 24/7. They have huge investments in their breeding programs. Usually if you can find a breeder willing to work out a price they do have terms. Good Luck in your adventure Deana Prestigeous |
I got a show Chihuahua for free w/co-ownership. The Chi's contract states that she can use him as stud, and that I can't breed him until he is finished. I'm ok with that. What I meant by the breeder controlling my life would be that she would choose what shows to go to, or what vet to use. I'm ok with her using him for stud whenever she wants. I guess I might have to save for a few years to get him. I have been going to shows, and I've seen many offers just like this, but someone has always gotten there before me. Just my like, I guess, lol! |
I misspelled luck! lol |

Good Luck!;) |
I haven't found one yet, but it isn't that unheard of; breeders that give or sell for reduced prices to juniors on co-ownership. Then sign the dog over to the junior once the dog is finished. I might just have to make my daughter wait, but if anyone has anything, pm me! |

I got the pics, but my daughter really wants one to show in conformation. Sorry... |
Sorry if I misinterpreted the humor. I just think its sad that a lot of people have dreams of having a yorkie, and come on here to ask about affordable ones, and they are told they'll never find one at that price. :( |
