Don't worry. I am having to learn all over again after showing with the past pros from years ago. I still feel like a newbie, again. It is hard. I had the same problem with Easy - very tough when she was going through the teenage stage and same thing happened with Gigi. Now I have Gigi off with a handler and I am trying my hand with my next one - Prize (male). I did not have much time to work with him for the Marietta, GA show, due to work, but we went anyways. He was so funny. He would jump a mile high when he heard all the strange bangs in the arena and was shaking in the ring. We just went in and did the best we could this weekend. He got 2nd out of 2, but when the judge handed me the ribbon he stated that he loved my dog - he just needs some more experience in the ring. That gave me hope. In other words - give him some time and get him use to the ring and its noise and he will do well. We did make it fun and so I hope with more practice - Prize will do better as we go. An other words - don't give up. T. |
Oh man, do I ever feel your nerves! I'm sure you remember my posts not too long ago. All scared to death and just sure we were going to trip and I was going to fall! Needless to say, that didn't happen. The more stressed I was, the more he felt it. Bingo was scared his first show because I was. He wanted to just jump up in my arms and cuddle instead of stack. He did much better his next show as I was much more comfortable. It's just getting over that first time in the ring. You'll do great, that I am sure of. Be confident in your puppy and make sure she knows how proud your are of her and can feel your love. |
