We're back! We had a great time with our first show. Bingo did so good. I'm very proud of him. Unfortunately, nobody showed up! There were 6 registered. On Saturday, he was the only one in his class and they gave him first and winners. The judge told me that he was a very nice puppy and she looked forward to seeing him in the ring in the future! There were 2 adult females there and they recieved the big awards, as they should. This morning, we were the only yorkie there. I was SO disappointed. I really hoped that he could compete against another male of his age so I could see how that goes. However, this judge like him too. Said he was a very nice boy and he will be a beautiful dog. She gave him First, Winners and Best in Breed. He did great leading around the ring. Our major problem is my nerves. He can feel that and won't stack well for me. I've got to get that figured out so he will relax. |
Oh, and remember how worried I was about falling down? Well the lady behind me on Saturday bent down to stack her dog in the ring and couldn't get back up! Her knee went out on her! I felt so bad for her. I turned back and helped her up. |

don't be disappointed, think of this weekend as your practise weekend. Next one, you will be ready for your competition. Sounds like you both did very well.:) I am still working on my nerves in the ring, let me know if you figure out the secret. :D |
Don't be disappointed. At least you won and the judge liked upir baby. |
Congratulations! Dear Steph - Just think of this as the first weekend of the rest of your life. You did great and you returned for day two! Did you go for Groups since you got Best of Breed? I always wondered if I ever got that what I would do. Your judges must have loved your baby to put him up and give you all thoses compliments. Nerves --- hmmm join the crowd. I still get them. I do not know how to get rid of them. They say a peppermint in you mouth during showing helps so your nerves and stops your dog from sensing your nerves. Congratulations! T. |
Thank you everybody. You know, I am so knew at this, I had no idea that I could have put him in the Group juding! After he showed, we packed up and left because he was the only one. I wish I would have gotten his picture taken too. Just for a momento for us. Now we know! We'll show him again next weekend in Lawrence, KS. There are more entries so hopefully more will show up! |
Congrats on a job well done on your first show weekend. I still get nervous and the whole thing seems to go so fast that I have a hard time concentrating. I hope that someday it will be more automatic, maybe that will help with the nerves. |
awww. Congratulations! You must be very proud! How exciting! :p |
