Update on New AKC Standard this link was sent to me in an email using Carol Hensleys old breakdown and updating it with the new standard, thought you all might be interested in reading is...most of the updates are near the last of the article with a photo of a mature yorkie and the "steel blue" color that is in question.... http://judgesl.com/YORKSHIRE%20TERRI...%20Terrier.htm |
 Thanks that was worth reading for me, great info:) lots of stuff I never knew:rolleyes: |
Thanks for sharing. I give a lot of praise to those who show, because it seems to be an awful lot of work, and more rules then I have hair on my head. |
That is a wonderful link thank you for posting that!  I do have a question i did read this on there: Do not forget that under FCI rules a Yorkie tail is no longer docked; however, there has been no statement made as to how the natural tail should be carried. Under AKC governance, a judge has the full option of dismissing or of judging a dog with a natural tail and will be supported. [2] So are they doing away with tail docking now or are they just saying that it is acceptible to not have docked tails? |
I would love to not have to dock my puppies tails...that would be great!! Awaiting anxiously for the answer to that.:D |

wow! Lots of interesting info there! Thanks for the link! :) |
Very interesting and it will be interesting to see what happens when they start DQing for the white. I see alot of pics of Champions with what I would think would be considered white but maybe it isnt. Maybe it is considered light gold or something. |
great post! This is very informative!!! Its gives me alot of insight on the dogs I am going to show. Lynn |
That should clear alot of confusion...many answered questions in the article.. |
What are thumb prints? Is it the tiny bit of blue between the ears and eyes? "Note the thumb prints at the side of the head in front of the ears are not only acceptable but are in fact desirable at this age" |
