opinions, please! 3 Attachment(s) hello everyone. I have a 3 month old yorkie. I would like to know your honest opinion about her body shape, please. I took some pictures while I was bathing her so you can see better, but they are a little misty. any comment will be appreciated, thanks |
Looks a lot like my dog Tbone. He is pretty long and lean. But he is still young (just over 2 years) and will probably fill out with age. And yours is quite young and has a lot of growing to do. Looks like a BEAUTIFUL dog, IMHO! |
At three months it's kind of hard to tell, but right now he looks pretty good. |
From the pics she looks to be nice and square with a nice tailset. Her topline looks to be level, can't tell about her ears. Did you have her evaluated at 8 weeks? She's not looking too bad now. |
thanks 1 Attachment(s) thanks for your replies, hopefuly more people can give me their opinion? Lady hawk, here is a picture that I just took where I think you can see her ear set. anyone? |
Very nice, ears look great. What line is this gal out of? Start practising with her on lead, stacking on the table, and showing teeth. Expose her to as many people and situations that you can after she's had all her shots. Who knows she may end up a show dog and it doesn't hurt to be ready. Have fun with her, she's a beaut! |
thanks thanks ladyhawk! She has ozmilion and coramonte behind her. you can see her pedigree here: http://www.geocities.com/anacharfen/...e_de_Gypsy.htm regards |
puppy Are you asking regarding her show potential..if so, I feel she will be too large? |
hi thanks Yorkie rose, by large do you mean big? she is 3 months and a half and she weighs 3 lb and 14 oz. Do you think that's large? thanks (in kg it is 1.77 kg) |
Very pretty pup!! Im no expert but thought I would throw in my 2 cents.. Dawn |
weight I am looking at her from a USA judges thinking. At her weight of nearly 4 pounds at 12 weeks..it is likely she will be 8 to 9 grown..and if that is evenly distributed on a compact frame, you might get away with it...she would not look too large for the ring...but if she continues to grow on leg as they can do..then the judge sees an oversized bitch and most will not win. I do not know the type Yorkie that is shown where you are...I would go to the shows and see if her size will be a factor in making it hard to finish her... I love her green eye flash..she will no doubt have a good, dark steel coat..her muzzle is a bit long, but a well placed and constructed top knot will change that quite easily..and refine the look... I would work with her and she what her size levels off to be..Best wishes What is the correct tail carriage for a Yorkie with a full tail...I do not think is allowed to curl over the back like a Maltese..check that out also. |

Anyway that's my 2 cents LOL Donna Bird Brooklynn's Yorkshire Terriers |
puppy Agreed! I would continue to train all potentials until they have proven they are not...it is a waiting thing. To the orginial poster... When you have the puppy in your poccession, it makes things very different, then if you are looking at litter for 3 or 4 potentials and asking for adivse as to who to pick. Size is quite tricky...and the best thing to do is wait it out... There is a trend in the US to return to a smaller, more compact Yorkie of years ago...in other countries it may be a trend to go even larger...best wishes |
thakns thanks to everyone. Gypsy is 15 weeks and a half. When she was 12 weeks, she weighed 1.45 kg, she has grown 300 gr in 3 weeks. regards |

Great info here! Are you able to tell about weight, say at 2 weeks, 4 weeks as to show potential and if so, what would the range be at those ages? |
