My New Show Prospect

here is what I hope will provide me with my very first experience in the show ring. I got her from Diamond Kennel, Gayla Lynch. She is five months old and i couldn't get a good picture of her at all. Gayla put her in the most beautiful stack ever but ass you can see, my effort was not good at all. if she takes after her ancestor, Montclair, The Devil Himself, she will be a good one. Gayla showed me a little about how to work with her and I have a new show lead so we are practising. I will be starting handling classes soon with her.

Congrats Dee. You can't tell to much from pics but her ear set looks good and her face is nicely balanced. She has nice deep color, not breaking too soon. When you stack her don't put her rear legs back so far. Make sure that her front legs are squarely under her and her rear legs are perpendicular from the hock joint to the foot. That will give you a true picture of her topline. Enjoy your handling classes. We start Wed. after next with Danali and I'm so looking forward to it. Hope to see you in the show ring someday. Thanks Tami!!!!!!! She is just perfect. her topline is great, teeth, ears. She has the whole package. She already knows how to stack and etc. I am the one that doesn't know howw to get her to do it but i have seen her all stacked up. She knows what "pretty tail' means:D she will stick it straight up. maybe we will run into each other someday. i had hoped to go to the show in lexington this weekend but fell and nearly broke my leg. I am wearing a full leg brace right now. not good for walking.

Oh Dee, I'm so sorry to hear about your leg. It's the pits to have a new toy (so to speak) and not be able to take it out and play. I'm sure you'll really enjoy her. It's really fun to work with them, become a team, and go out and show her off. Win or loose Connor and I always try to have fun, I just like doing things with him. You two will do great!

She's a doll! When is her birthday? My Kalina will be 5 months tomorrow, so they must be close in age! Good luck in the ring with her. :)

Good Luck with her and hope all goes well. Jay Ammon/Montclair Yorkshire Terriers passed away day before yesterday......the yorkie world has lost a wonderful matriarch and contributor. She was a wonderful, artistic, funny woman and would teach you anything you wanted to know about grooming and the art of presentation. Her articles in YT Magazine were wonderful and she will be very missed by the breeder/exhibitor world.

thanks Mary, is there a website I can go to find out more about Montclair, The Devil Himself/ I have heard great things about him and the line and that he is a nice looking dog but now would REALLY love to learn more.:) i wish I had gotten to meet this wonderful lady. sounds as if we truly have lost a good friend.

Devil passed years ago. I don't think that Jay had a website, as she was an old timer, that hated the internet and didn't advertise, as she didn't have to. She was also a breeder of s**tz Szu (I never can get that spelling down) as a matter of fact Laniee of Laniee Ltd (passed last year) had one of Jay's s**tz dogs that was a major contributor to that breed. Laniee and Jay were very close.
She was very serious breeder and exhibitor and she touched many lives. She would tell it like it was and didn't care whether you liked it or not. As it was told if you sat next her, ringside at a YTCA National Specialty you got a great education.

Congratulations Dee!! I'm so happy to see you have finally got your show dog. I know that you have been wanting one for a while. She's beautiful!! I am not familiar with Diamond Kennels but judging by your little girl she must have stunning show dogs!!!

i just ran across a pedigree while googling that has Montclair This Time a Devil and Ch. This Time Devil Child and a few other This Time and Montclair stuff together. Are these your dogs or those of your mentor. it is the pedigree of This Time Don't Worry, Be Happy
