Greensboro, NC Kelley Krack competed in her first show this past weekend. She entered her boy Mojo in the match after the Carolina Kennel Club show. Robbie (Butterfly Yorkies), Jan L and I groomed Mojo, gave him a pretty topknot, gave Kelley some quick handling lessons and sent her into the ring. Mojo started limping while he was in the ring. Somehow he had injured his foot. The judge had already examined him on the table and had watched him move so she awarded him a first place. Kelley did a great job showing him. She certainly didn't look like a beginner. Kelly, just because you are the only one in you class does not mean you automatically get a first place. The judge doesn't have award to you a first place or award you with anything at all. The judge will only give you a ribbon if he\she thinks you deserve it. Robbie, Jan, Tami and I have a great time showing together. We are glad to have you join us! |
Kelley, welcome to the dogshow world and congrats on your first ribbon. I hope your Mojo is okay now. I'm anxious to meet you and know that we'll just have a great time. |
Hey Laurie, How'd our Duece do? I have a great new grooming tip for you. PM me! |
I live in NC and would love for y'all to mentor me/help me out with showing in the future. For right now, I would just show Mia who is 2 years and 2 months. She has absolutely beautiful/almost perfect coloring and the attitude and confidence to boost! She is extremely smart! I am trying to grow her face hair out and the rest of her body. I actually just had her trimmed and cleaned up last week so it is shorter than it was. Let me know if I can join your circle. PS- I think I actually talked with Kelley about studding with my Mia, small world! :D |
Yes Teryn I believe it was you I talked to. Hows your baby doing? Mojo is doing much better now. He caught his toenail on something at some point that night, it looked like it almost pulled it out but the vet said that the nail was still intact and compared it to bending you fingernail back too far. VERY painful. Hes better and ready for his next one now...lol... |

It was very nice meeting yall! We had a great time and I wanted to thank you for being so nice and so open to help someone else when you didnt have to...most people wouldnt. Nat really enjoyed herself, thats all she has talked about. I cant thank you enough for helping her, you will never know how much that helped her self esteem. She is sooo proud of herself, as she should be. I cant thank you ladies enough and I cant wait to work with yall again. :D |
It was great meeting you Kelly. Nat is really sweet; I enjoyed meeting all of your family. |
Nat has a reason to be proud of herself. When I saw her in the ring with all those juniors I told Chelsea that there is no way she would place in that group. Most of those kids had just finished the training class that afternoon and at least 2 of them were aprenticing with pro handlers. She remembered to do everything Chelsea told her and she watched the others and did what they did. She worked hard for that 4th place. There were a lot of more experienced kids that left the ring with nothing. |

Daisy was a wild child. She wouldn't stand still and barked constantly. I like my dogs to be animated in the ring but she was beyond that. I was afraid the judge thought I was doing it on purpose. I was so glad when it was all over and I could leave the ring. |

These dogs have to be close to perfect to win. They have to be bred for this purpose. Don't be discouraged. Many of you remember Maria and the pup she bought as a pet that turned out to be a wonderful show girl. |
Just wanted to stop in and say congrats. I love reading how people are doing in the show world, it cannot be easy, and it excites me that your first show went well. i look forward to hearing more good news in the future!!! |
