My mischievous pack knocked my sketch book off of the table and chewed my pencils and eraser. In the process, my Special chewed 2 inches off the side of his face. (No Best of Breed for us this weekend). Do you do anything special to the facial furnishing to protect the hair when they eat?
Thanks guys. If you ever need to know how to hand strip a terrier, I be glad to return the favor. |
Yes, you are being paranoid.....question, is your yorkie boy or girl? What texture is the coat.....very silk, a little coarser? I use plastic wraps, especially on boys, for obvious reasons. Also, take them down once a day and rewrap.....this will prevent what we call ring around, under the wraps where they are banded. I also make sure that there are no sharp edges, so folding is a must.....even with plastic wraps.
What I do is use very small bands and band the facial furnishings, taking care not to obstruct the natural mobility of their mouth. Growing facial furnishing on a yorkie is very tricky...lots of extra care....washing after eating, making sure their are no eye goobers (this rots the coat).....I hope I've answered your question... |
