I think k2p1e was just looking for help and advice on finding a mentor...unfortunately this thread is being drowned in a squabble of previous history. Maybe we should try to keep this on topic. I don't show or breed and will never show or breed, but I am interested in the advice that others are giving k2p1e and am hoping she finds someone who will trust her and who she can trust in return to help her start up. It would be nice if we didn't have to dig through all the off topic stuff. Obviously there is a sensitive issue here, and I'm not going to pretend to know what it's about or offer my opinion, but please if it needs to be discussed, why not take it to another thread. Just trying to keep this civil. Thanks guys!

I am not a show person but I would suggest maybe to continue going to the handling classes just to keep you "trained". It also sounds like you have a great mentor in this person. Also, since she is a groomer, she might be able to show you how to do a top knot on your yorkie. That way when you do decide to go into the show ring, you will already be ahead by knowing the top knot. Learning that is a trick in itself.

People can be so rude. See if it was me I would have responded and it would have said:

Im sorry you had to endure that. You know I believe that when people are mean like that, it always comes back to bite them in the butt! Karma is a @#%$.;) Don't let the negativity discourage you.

Yorkykisses, tread lightly. I don't think you want made public what happens behind closed doors of "The reputable show breeders". I highly suggest you stop pressing this subject that has "nothing to do with you", or this thread. Why do you persist and feel it necessary posting this on other boards. One never knows what could come back and haunt you.

I always love to visit the show forum and the breeder section but after reading this thread I'm not sure what's going on.

It seems Yorkykisses has some agenda that has nothing to do with the original posters thread. From an outsider this looks like you're attacking or provoking. I hope I'm wrong but my gut says I'm not.

Who are you anyway? Do you show dogs? Do you breed? What's your point posting on this thread?

Just curious since you have so much to say on the subject.

Carolyn may point for posting on this thread is to explain to " k2p1e " why some show breeders will not help or even refer a novice. When a "True Show Breeder" is done wrong by someone that has not been honest it makes them not want to extend a helping hand to a novice. A novice needs a honest loving mentor to help them, but when one honest reputable veteran show breeder has been wronged it spreads like wildfire to all the other honest reputable veteran show breeders. Which makes it more difficult for people like " k2p1e " to receive the helps she would like to receive. There are true show breeders that do not always agree, but they will come to the aid of each other when one has been wronged. I believe " k2p1e" will have her dream come true, it just takes alot more determination if there are negative issues concerning new novice that is spreading like wildfire among the show world.

I do not breed, but I have and do show. My yorkshire terriers bring me great joy and I love being able to spend the time with them.

I really was not ready to show at that time, but that remark got me going...so I bred a bitch, took her best puppy and finished him..beat the breeder who made the remark a number of times!.....great fun.

K2p1e I am sorry that you were hurt! I think that the breeder could have handled it better! I'm sorry she took the rude route!
