weight I dont remember what is the minimum and maximum weight to show your yorkie |
The "standard" says a yorkie should be "7 lbs or under." However, I think most "show" yorkies are around 5 lbs. |
the akc standard is 3-7 lbs i believe. |
There is no minimum standard, just "under 7 pounds." If I am not mistaken, I think most of the ones you see in the ring are in the 4-5 lb range.:) |
weight The Yorkies being shown now are smaller then in past years...most are 5 to 7 pounders..don't see too many oversized anymore. Never seen one under 3 pounds as an adult shown. Weight needs to fit the frame. |
It is not to exceed 7 pounds, there is no minimum. |
The actual breed standard is 4-7 lbs, but I think they allow smaller dogs in, as the person above me stated. |
Not to exceed 7 pounds. No minimum weight. |
Standard By AKC standard they cannot be over 7 pounds. You can show smaller ones, but I have found if they are under 5 pounds they will do better in UKC. AKC judges seem to go for the larger yorkies. Ricki |
