We have some good news from showing in Ohio! 3 Attachment(s) YT'ers, We are so exhausted but oh what fun! :p First the good news is that we drove from NC to Ohio all day Friday. We missed the Friday shows, but showed Sat AM and PM. Lipstik won Champion of Champions (COC)in the Sat AM show and again COC for the Sat PM show. She then won Best of Breed. On Sunday, Laurie's male won COC and Lipstik won Reserve Champion. Also as much fun was Laurie's female puppy who won Best in Show in the puppy match. My newest male, whom I have had for three weeks, didn't win, but he trotted much better than at last week's match in Greensboro. I am including some pics that we took but the pics with the judges and the rosettes aren't ready yet. I am so excited. This is habit forming! :D Thanks for letting me share the excitement! |
3 Attachment(s) YT'ers Some more pics and one from the hotel when Lipstik is relaxing after a hard day's work! :p Thanks again for all your support. |
:p Wow! You must be a proud mom! Lipstick is so pretty! Congratulations!!! :bravo: Job Well Done!!! :congrats: |
Lipstick is beautiful, congrates |
Thanks for the nice words. I think Lippy is beautiful and am so glad you agree! Thanks for letting me share the good news! |
Congratulations. How exciting for both of you. This will be a momment that you will always cherish. Congratulations again and best of luck to you in the future shows. |
Kathy Thanks so much for the nice words. You might remember you helped me a while ago when I was choosing a female and with your help and others who helped me select this fine girl who is my heart. It was so much fun to show her this weekend at this UKC show. It would be so much more rewarding if it were AKC, but I'll take a win. I am considering having a professional handler advance her in akc. With her being short legged, I believe someone more qualified may advance her better than someone as inexperienced as I. Thanks again for the fine words. |
:congrats: :bravo: :good job: :number1ri :clapsmile :yay_jump: Maria.. you are going for the Big Time!! Congratulations! Soon it will be Darwin's turn..! |
The UKC shows are a great place for you to get the experience that you need as well as the confidence. There are some parts of the country that seem to have more handlers then others. It can be more difficult picking your judges and where to show in the AKC. It will come to you and you will do what is best for you and you girl. It makes me very happy that I had a small part in the joy that you are experiencing. Once again good luck- you may want to try the International shows for your next adventure. I may see you at the UKC shows- I may have two boys that will be ready to be shown at UKC and International shows next year. |
Congrats Maria and Lipstik WTG!!! Keep it up! |
Kimberly, Thanks so much. I am so excited. I guess you can't tell, hehe. |
Yay! :cheer::aimeeyork Congrats Lipstik!! :aimeeyork:cheer: |
Just wanted to thank each YT'er who took the time to post such nice remarks about Lipstik. Now I am planning on meeting a handler that Lipstik's breeder recommended who is well known and whom I hope will feel she is show-worthy to advance in AKC. Thanks again! |
You will due just fine. The hardest thing will be to let your gal go away from home. It is like sending your kid of to college. The handler that you are meeting is very well respected and does a great job with the dogs that she shows. Best of luck and keep us informed as you travel down that fun path of showing. |
Kathy, You are so right! Letting Lipstik go is tugging at my heart, but I am confident that she will advance with some one who knows what she is doing. I have total faith that if she feels that Lipstik is show worthy that she will be able to advance her far quicker than I. And have heard that she takes good care of the dogs she shows. And that is the best criterion. Thanks, will keep you posted |
