The color of the bows have nothing to do with the fact that a dog win or not . The last time I showed Gazou , he had a black bow and he won points . |
Bow Color I was told by many veteran show people that red was the perferred color of bow when showing your yorkie.. So needless to say I have always used red bows! ;) Melanie |
Yes, red is the most common color, but you can use any color. Somtimes it is nice to set yourself/your dog from the others - it can point yours out among the crowd. I guess I am a veteran too - starting showing back in 1979. My gray hair shows it. T. |

I am a new yorkie owner but I have been showing since the 70's too. I started with Toy and Standard Poodles and then moved on to Parson Russell Terriers. My gray does not give me away. I have a monthly appointment with my "groomer" to cover all those nasty grays. LOL. I'm so glad I found this forum. There is so much to learn about my new babies. Thank you all for your kind responses. |

As a rule most Yorkies look best with red or orange, but I have seen many with the colors you were using. Sounds like you did a nice job with him regardless. Good luck in future. |
Best thread on here....YMHO I was looking for this very question and finally found this thread. I am not one to conform very easily, and I do want to make a statement, but, you know......I dont want it held against me either.....as if there isn't enough to worry about while showing a Yorkie.... Ok...now that we have kinda figured out that red/orange kinda stands out, but having a different color bow is a nice change too.... So where do you buy your bows???? Please list....or do you shop Ebay? Thanks, :) |
I use these: http://www.dog-bows.com/ http://www.theyorkiebowtique.com/ - See my Keeper: Front and centered (he is from one of my breedings) - now being shown! Yea!! T. |
