How exciting for you....do you have any experience in the show ring at all? I have none, zero, zilch...but just wanted to say Hello, good luck and hopefully some folks will be around to answer. I think it may be important to note that you are in Ireland and I'm not sure how things work there, or if this is or isn't any difference to the US show ring. |

Do you know of large shows that may have vendors attending? That is when many of us get what is known here in North America as the kindness leads. They have a wide silk neckpiece and the lead all as one piece. I know of more than a few places here in North America, what I don't know is if they ship to Ireland. |
Awh red for the colour! We had an old thread here about how the "standard" leads and bows for Yorkies changed over the years. And Yes I would try to get red for the bow, but not the lead. In North America, many pro handlers use leads that kind of fade away and don't stand out, you want nothing to detract from the sheer perfection of that glorious coat and shine. So we use a dull brown, or grey or off white, lead. |
ooh hello! can't believe i missed this thread! the things i've got i ordered online- brushes, show bows etc. and the boxes as far as i've seen are made by or for the exhibitors... the leads and bobbles i got in a supply store, but i need to look up the name becasue i can't for the life of me remember! there is a horsey shop in ballycarry that does great bands for everyday topknots and for the paper wraps, and i get my oils from some small oriental and african food-type shops near ormeau in belfast (if any of those places mean anything to you) i'd love to chat to you more about this- wanting to show myself, but don't have a puppy atm (thinking of taking my 4yr old in to the ring for my own practice!) but if i can be of any help please just let me know! we'd love to see pics of your puppy- can't believe it isn't a rule that pics need to be included!! lol ;) |
