I use water bottles also. Some people do not like it when you admit to using them- but I find then quite handy- and no wet willies. |
Stupid question maybe... but why would people not like it when you admitt to using water bottles? Is it a no no?? Maybe I am missing something? Help me out! |

Some people have the idea that waterbottles used on a dog or cat- are an indication of a pet store, puppy mill or that your animals are caged all the times. I train the babies with water bottles from a early age. I do not like little ones stepping in the water or knocking the water bowls over when they get into play battles. Saves water on the floor/or on pee pads and wet babies. The water bottles also work for the kids who I am growing coat out- not wet willies/beards. This helps to keep the hair around the mouth dry and to not become so dirty. The wet hair attracts food particles and so forth. I use a 1 section of a playpen fence and place the water bottles on it with the clips- makes for a watering station for the gang. They seem to have their pick as to which water bottle they claim as theirs. |
I learn something new everyday! I am going to be growing out Pixie's coat so maybe I will want to start her on the bottle... She will be 4 months old when she comes home... Is that too late? Think she'll get it?? How sould I introduce her to it? |
......HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHA :lol tears ..... I read the whole thread and am still laughing over teeth hair! I sat there thinking .hummmmmm......teeth hair.....interesting.....is it mouth hair?....hummmmmmm....whiskers?........certainly it doesnt mean true teeth hairs does it?.......Ill go check a dog...... Then I read on......thanks for the laugh!!! |
water The reason I do not like licky bottles is..mine drank less water. A bottle containing 12 oz would last for 5 to7 full days depending on the weather Summer/winter months..but a metal coup cup holding 8 oz would be half empty by evening. |
Mine drink just as much with bottles as with bowls - probably more as they can't spill it while I am gone. A 16oz bottle will last mine about a day and 1/2. But mine also start as babies drinking from the bottle - I can't stand wet pups!! Charlie Evenstar Yorkies |
