Awww never be intimidated just know that the best time to approach is after we show. Some of us will talk while grooming. If I have a yorkie that will keep their head down while I'm doing top knots I normally will chat with anyone that stops by. I do have to say most of my yorkies are good on the table while doing top knots LOL!

The owner/exhibitor that won breed in yorkies chose not to stay for group. Some will stay some won't.

As we were leaving through the big building we realized they had that big ring set up in the middle and stayed to watch the Hounds. We had intentions of staying for the Toy Group, but when they announced that Non-sporting would be next (if I remember right) we decided to leave. I'm glad I didn't hang around!

We'll be waiting about the same amount of time in between shows. After this coming weekend, it'll be 5 or 6 weeks before I'll get to show again. It's such a busy month at work and have some other stuff going on. So it'll be the first part of May before we'll get to a show again too. Then London will move up to the 9-12mo class. I may go through withdrawals LOL. But I've got a lot I want to do May-July

I always go through withdrawals when I am on a break from the ring! I"ll be so ready to get back out in the ring. But I know I"ll have a busy summer and fall with the pups if they hold up :) But then again, I'm in no hurry to finish them. I may do one at a time so I can drag it out lol

Ah! Okay. So then I take it that, that owner/exhibitor had nothing to gain points wise then? Otherwise, they would stay, right? Well, it was already a Ch Ch if I'm not mistaken? Confusing. lol I'm still trying to figure outhow this works! lol I must say, I give all you ladies/gentleman the upmost respect! I don't think some people FULLY grasp the ENTIRE concept of showing and what all it entails. There is SO much needed to know. You have to know so much bookwise and then you have all the hands on that I'm sure you only gain with personal experience. I'm exhausted just thinking about it! Great job ladies!! :thumbup:

TexasKat, you're right. We went to that building next (No fair it had heat!! :cool:) We watched the Toy Poodles and when they were done group was still showing non-sporting. We watched the end of it. Then it was Toy time....No Yorkies=leave time! lol

The Yorkie that got Best of Breed yesterday is already a champion and is trying to earn his grand championship. A champion can win points toward their grand championship by winning BOB or getting a Select during the breed competition. The BOB winner also earns points that go toward their Breed ranking. (This is how a Yorkie can become #1 Breed Yorkie, #2 and so on in AKC for the year)

The BOB winner can then compete in the Toy Group competition. By placing or winning in the Toy group, you can earn points toward All-Breed ranking (this is how a Yorkie can become #1, #2, etc All-breed Yorkie in AKC for the year). If there were 300 toy breed dogs competing one day, the winner of the Toy group would win that many points since they beat that many dogs. 2, 3, and 4th place in the group also win points toward their all-breed ranking.

So there are points to be won from Group competition as well.

Ok now I know I"m gonna go through withdrawals until I get the Cali dog and or have to wait for the pups! GRRRRRRRRRRRRR LOL...guess I"ll just have to cheer all my friends on till I'm back in the ring!

At least it's not too long...just about a month and a half
