Type Of Dryer What type of dryer do you show experts use? I haven't found an HV that doesn't blow too hard. :( But HV'ing really makes the coat lay flat, and straight. Inquiring minds need to know. :) Sheila |
I'm no expert. :) I just use a regualer blow dryer. I use it on low and dry from the underside first. I also have a small volt blow dryer/brush iron that I use at the show for a quick clean up. |
I have just always used a regular dryer. I usually bath them the night before and then just brush and had topknot the day of the show. Of course topknot in just before we go in the ring. What is hard is the topknot. Pepe is great and goes in fairly easy. But my Easy - what a job. I think at the last show I had to retopknot her 5 times. Her hair is so fine as a puppy, it is tough to get it just right. T. |
Sure, you're an expert. :) In my opinion, when you're showing, you have to do things perfectly, so I consider you an expert. :) So, when I need advice on grooming, I turn to the show people. Never failed me yet. ;) When I use a regualr dryer, one of my girls coats gets too 'fluffed out'. So, I'm wondering if anyone knows of an HV that doesn't blow too hard for Yorkies, but still blows hard enough to make the coat lay flat. |
I just use a reg dryer on low on my Yorkies. |
I always use a regular hair dryer for my show Yorkies . |
do you guys use the cool setting im always telling people to use the cool :aimeeyork settings would agree ? |
I definitely agree with 'cool settings'. I prefer a no heat element dryer, that the air is warmed by the temperature of the room. No "frizzing out" of coat, no dry skin. :) |
dryer I use a Duck dryer on cool...I love it. |
It was suggested to me to use an Ionic Blow Dryer. I bought mine from Wal-Mart for like $20. The temp is perfect and it doesn't dry out the coat or make it fluffy. My gang don't mind it at all. Give it a shot! Hugs, Irene |
I dont show Roxy but I use a blow dryer with a diffuser. She doesnt mind it at all and it doesnt make her hair go wild....lol. |
Irene, The Ionic Blow Dryer sounds like just the ticket. Thanks. :) Sheila |
Thanks! The ionic sounds like the thing to get! I usually blow try them the night before a show, so the fluff goes down, but Easy has a very silky coat and needs the bath the day of the show or she looks too oily/fine coated. You know what I mean? Thanks for the tip! :D T. |
