Victoria Day show We;ll this long weekend in Canada Razz and I will be showing on Sunday and holiday Monday. We are excited, and I'm busy doing all the prep work prior the wkend. Making up the wraps, practising out on the grass. Tried to video us today,. but my lens was dirty, and all i saw was a smear of 6 feet approaching and leaving LOL LOL. So now I'm going to clean up the lens (fingers crossed) that is all it needs. And I've gotto find my new fancy dancy show lead. :confused:Do you ever wonder if you have a little gremlin in the house that hides those things you need? Going to be a pretty small entry, but that's okay. My hubby said he is going with me, to monitor my vendor shopping:eek: My breeder is going to be there one of the days - and she is bringing me some new shampoo and conditioner:thumbup::thumbup: |
Good luck Gail and Razzle! I hope your lens is now clean because I really want to see video. LOL at hubby spoiling your fun with the vendors. ;) |
Good luck at the show. We will be looking forward to updates and hopefully some pictures. |
Good luck!!!!:) |

IDK I had this idea I could just finish the Razz man myself. Maybe it would take a bit longer, but I'm just so happy to show him, okay Razz might take advantage of that, but he's only a little over 18months, and 4 pts left to finish. Next wkend, if he wins twice - but he'd have to win BOW he could finish. What do you think? Should I get the pro for all wkend? There is a major in bitches Fri -sunday - but not for males. And the special that won NYC specialty will be there. |

Congratulations Gail and Razzle -- BOS!! I'm so happy for you! Looking forward to seeing pictures. Grrrr -- no video. ;) I cannot offer any advice relative to using a handler, but I understand your wanting to be in the ring with Razzle, showing together. Wishing you the best in making this difficult decision. |

There is not any magic age to attain a CH in the Yorkie Breed is there? Okay I'm going to show him two out of the three days, let's see if that pro handler (if he can show him that is) does any betta... Also I'm confident he'll be finished soon. Then the US Championship. July/August ... any suggestions for shows, What is near to me geographically is Upper New York State, like Buffalo, Erie PA, even columbus Ohio, Michigan is further away but could be done. |

There is no doubt that you have the passion to do anything you set your mind to. |
Congrats on BOS and getting him so close to his championship! Hey if you are enjoying showing him I would continue to show him yourself. Many people advised me to get a handler for our first show dog, and although he never finished I can't even begin to tell you everything we learned from showing him ourself. His offspring are now in the ring, one in Canada and 2 here that are doing very well owner handled. I almost have his daughter finished and I know I wouldn't be this far with her if I didn't have that first hand experience. Yea he probably would have been finished no problem but I'm not sure I want to trade those experiences for the title. I don't think there is a magic age, I think they all mature differently. I have seen young dogs finish and I have seen some dogs not go in the ring until 3 years old or later, in full coat and ready to compete. I live in the NE corner of Ohio! We have a beautiful show on Lake Erie we will be attending in July and then a nice 4-day cluster too in Ohio at the beginning of August. Let me know if you want more information and I would be happy to give you the details. |

I love competing it is in my blood I guess. BTW I love your kennel name JaLai has a specific meaning I think. It is Chinese? yes no? |

I will get the information together for the shows and send it to you! |
Gail, There is nothing more satisfying by finishing your own dog for the first time! He's young still and he only has 4 more points go for it yourself girlfriend! You can do it I have confidence in you!!! Good Luck this weekend!! Call me when you can. Donna |

I shouldn't judge from a couple of pictures, but I think he had a happier expression when you were in the ring with him. |

Gail, I think it's wonderful that you are showing Razz ! I know it can be discouraging.....trust me , I know !! I am so knew at this, and I get all of those same comments as you do from my peers,it can be so frustrating ! But, I do love to show and I really want to finish Sebastien myself. I'm sure that if I had a handler showing him, that he would be finished now. Like Razz , Sebastien is just a little more than 18 months, also he is not big....weighing in at a whopping 4 1/2 lbs., But he's beaten some pretty tough competition, and I'm determined to do this on my own. I totally agrre with Jackie, I've learned so much through each show and preparing for each show.I wouldn't know what I do now if I had gotten a handler. Like Donna said, you can do this....and by what I'm reading, you really want to ! You go Girl !! |

I can see him standing like a pro -- he looks so serious and intent in the pictures. |
