Which classes would you enter? When I showed Libby in Jan I only entered her in the 6-9month bitches but there were several other categories that fit like amateur and bred by. I hope I'm making sense here... do those of you that show enter as many classes as fit or is that a waste? I noticed at the show that there were several times when only one dog was in the ring and it must have been these other categories and I don't know if it's good to do that - I know you wouldn't get any points but it gets your dog in front of the judge a lot. Thanks for any advice. |
I use puppy class until they are too old..I never put a puppy in BredBY.. |
Theresa, I have never seen anyone enter a dog in more than one class per show. Most exhibitors enter puppies in the puppy class unless they are older puppies and are exceptional. I have seen puppies entered in the bred-by class, but it was mainly at specialty shows. My personal feelings are that it is best to enter puppies in the puppy class unless you are more experienced at showing. Judges are more forgiving of puppies when it comes to behavior and also if the puppy has not fully cleared on the head. |
You can not enter the same dog in two different classes in the same show.. |
