Question? Ok I think I'm over looking it somewhere. What are the rules about show bows? What colors can and can not be used? I also was looking at the districts. Now I am in district 6, and the only difference I can obtain about the districts is each district has its own number of point system. District 7 has a higher number of yorkies that have to be in the show in order to earn the higher points, and in District 6 there are less numbers of yorkies that need to be present to win the big points. Okay so my question is if (hypotheatically) I score points in District 6 and want to try the bigger shows in District 7 do I have to reshow for the points I got in District 6 to champion my dog in District 7, or do I just accumlate those points from District 7 for a combined total? |
Bows - you can have your yorkie wear any color of bows you would like. There is not a rule stating what color - the dog is being judged not the bow. :-) So have fun and pick the bow color that compliments the color of your yorkie best. Most people generally use red or a deep orange, but no where are those the only colors. When they are pups - I use red and white poka dots, blue, pink, red, orange and have used purple before. You just want to make sure the color compliments their color and head. Size is also important to help compliment the head. Point System - the point system for the year is set by total number of enteries for your breed the year before. This will change as the numbers change each year. It does not matter which district you show in - the points are collect. You do not have to reshow in another district. As long as you show in the USA - all those points earned go in together for the total. Handlers travel all over the place - you go for where the points are. You will need two majors, which are points you earned that are 3-5 points. When you are hunting for majors - you go where you can find them at. You will need a total of 15 points (two of them being a 3-5 point majors). So yes, the points accumlate and are combined. I hope this helps. |
Thanks so much it does help. One more clarification though: (You will need a total of 15 points (two of them being a 3-5 point majors). So you can get all the points for a championship (say 2 -Three points wins, 2 -Two point wins, and 1 -Five point win) but you won't champion the dog unless its had 2 -Five point wins? |

One thing more you need to obtain those majors under two different judges. |
Sorry, about that! I was having a blonde moment. Now that I re-read your first statement I got it. But thank you again for clarifying that again. |
