Topknot with her gorgeous handmade items has inspired me to share a Yorkie project I have been working on.

With both my show dogs I have been so frustrated with wrapping jackets--so I decided to design my own. I used a lightweight satin with the shiny side on the coat and designed it so that there are no seams touching the the body. Also, I added a high collar to protect the neck wraps from those little scratchy back feet :).

Havoc has been my guinea pig and so far I can go 5 days between wrapping his body and no mats at all. I am too chicken to wait any longer :)

For all those of you that show, can you tell me what you think? My goal is to create the ultimate wrapping jacket! :)

I love the jacket. Does he also wear a belly band underneath the jacket?

Thank you so much! So far I am really pleased with how the jackets have turned out. :D

I only use belly bands when I travel. All of my boys know better than to mark in the house...I can be scary ;) lol

Keep us posted on when you might start selling them. I would like to get one or two around the end of the year.

Barb,

When you gonna start back to showing? You've been saying your gonna try and get back out now for a couple of years LOL....you're missing all the fun in the show world LOL...I will believe ya when I see ya out showing again ROFL!!!

That would be great to get another yorkie exhibitor showing, the more the merrier. I love the competition in Texas....feels so good when your dog is put up when there is so many great representations of the breed in the ring with you.

The only time you put belly bands on is in hotel rooms. It's already putting the dog through so much when you've got wraps and a wrapping jacket on them.

I had the pleasure of seeing these jackets up close and persona. They are marvelous, no seems on the inside. I still can't figure out how they're put together.

How are those belly bands and bows that I made for Havoc working out?

They are marvelous!!! I both my boys in them the first few days when their breeders were babysitting and they worked like a charm. They were in awe with the design! You need to start selling those Mary!

Since I cant sew for beans I hired an amazing seamstress to turn the jacket design into something tangible. She is meticulous and her work is amazing. There is not one exposed joint seam anywhere on the inside of the jacket. Not to mention it is completely finished on the outside :D

Just give anyone who wants them my e-mail and/or my number. Who ever asks, just make sure they measure around the middle, including their boy's private part.

WOW I have never seen a dog wrapped for show before. It was very educational to a pet home! I always imagined a nightmare for the dog but this looks acually more comfy than some of my babies outfits LOL I have a friend that shows but I have never seen her baby wrapped. Thanks... I enjoyed this thread!

So I made a pretty basic website showing the jackets in detail if anyone is interested. To see up-close pics click on the "Jacket Photos & Info" on the menu.

Its still a work in progress so try to look at it with soft eyes lol :D

Mary and I got the wrapping jackets for my CJ and Baxter! Yea!!! We LOVE them! :D:D I will try and get pictures very soon. Just so cute..(hope I can get one of them with their name glowing in the dark..lol) It takes a lot of time to make them so if anyone wants one (and I know a lot of exhibitors that are going to be beating down her door for them), better contact Kristena really soon.

heehee...dontcha just love the glow-in-the-dark thread?!? My husband kept charging him up with a flashlight and laughing as he ran around in the dark with his little name glowing :)

My seamstress is PHENOMENAL :) I still cant figure out how she makes the seams!

I figured it out Kristena.....based on the same principle I did your crate pads and belly bands....but, with a bit of minipulation and modification.
