Biro Biewer ... what is it? This has been posted in a breeder discussion area also. What is a Biro Biewer? Is it a biewer variation on the chocolate yorkie? Do these pups have show potential? Is there a standard? PLEASE post pictures of yours if you have one. I looked on google and found nothing really. I did find one named Chawka Girl. Is she standard? I tried looking on some german sites but that was near impossible due to the confusion of translating etc. What a mess LOL. Can't wait to hear your thoughts, shared knowledge, questions, discussions. Thank you :aimeeyork |
I went and did a search on it and found out "Biro" means chocolate. Here is where I found it... Biewer Yorkie I am not sure if there is a standard or if they can be shown. |
The original biro had Shih Tzu mixed in it. Other biro lines had Chihuahua biro stands for 2 different peoples initials. |
You can see some pics and read some info here: Biewer Yorkie Page Title WHAT MAKES IT A BIEWER YORKIE Google Translate |

Whether or not biro or standard biewers are mixes depends on the club you ask. |

Pet pricing for female biewers varies a great deal. I've seen pricing vary from 2500 all the way up to 4200. |

Biro Yorkie A few weeks ago I decided I was once again ready for a dog. I hadn't had one in 8 years. And Until 2 weeks ago I had no idea what a Brio Biewer Yorkie was. I got a Brio Biewer that was a rescue. She had a recessed chin and extra so the breeder did not want her. She basically left her in a kennel so I suspect the dog came from a puppy mill. What I can tell you from my experience (and this is a dog that was neglected). She is sweet, loving, stubborn, finicky and knows how to get her way. She is beautiful, even with the recessed chin. She has no idea how small she is and would take on the world to protect me. Would I pay 1500 to 2000 for a Brio Biewer, no but I wouldn't pay that for any dog. I don't mean to insult anyone but when dog breeds are mixed they are no longer pure breed. I don't care if they are called designer dogs or not. I realize its done to try to breed in the good traits of each breed but it also can breed in the unwanted traits. My dog is really sweet, she has some issues but I don't know if that is a trait from breeding or the environment she came from. I love her and do not regret my decision to get her. |

Not sure - just heard about these and Parti Yorkies on FB's Crazy Yorky's Ladies. I looked up AKC Yorkshire Terrier standards and googled these Parti Yorkies those Biewers. Someone who shows Yorkies stated that these Yorkies are nothing more than mix breeds or not to standard so are pets only. The site also mentioned that people are charging outrageous prices for these designer dogs. Why? They are not accepted in a show ring. They do make cute pets tough. That's about it. |
My understanding is that there is no currently available DNA test for individual breed of dogs. You can prove parentage through DNA testing and some other DNA specific tests for certain genetic diseases - such as PRA and CDA Color Dilution Alopecia. But not for the exact breed of the dog. |

Biewers have a standard. They are not designer dogs. I have been breeding Biewer to Biewer for 10.5 years. Biewers show in the Rare Breed Show Venues: IABCA, ICKC, ARBA. |
my biro is pedigree i had DNA tested pure breed |
There is no DNA test that defines a purebred dog. Only DNA parentage tests are reliable. |
Dna Mine has dna biro boy level one yorkie |

I'm trying to post a link to a company that claims to be able to identify breed through DNA testing. I've had the impression for some time now that this was possible. |
Q: Can the test prove that my dog is purebred? A. If you think your dog is one or two specific breeds, you can indicate this during the kit online activation and the DNA sample will be analyzed with entire breed database along with a profile comparison of the specific breed(s) you select. However, the breed test is not designed to be used in court to solve disputes over breed purity. I can say, without a doubt, that these DNA tests cannot determine purebred status and this is why they have the disclaimer (and rightly so) re: court disputes. They are not accurate and are not intended to be so in the way that is under discussion here. They are only reliable as far as parentage just like human DNA tests which are designed to test the same thing. I hope that helps. |
