Thank You YT ladies at Merced Show
 
I just wanted to say Thank you in a huge way to the kindness of the Ladies of YT at the Merced Show Katelin and Your sweet boy saved our Hinnie On Friday and we loved talking to you ! and Today I am still So grateful for the Ladies who Steped up to Help me and Scooter Clean up a Stupied Novice Mistake I would of Been devistated if I Would of not been able to show Scooter Today I wish there was a book Dog showing for Dummies!!! Trish Thank you Thank you Thank YOU !!! I still cant belive we lost our first point Yesterday due to Handler Error :( and Thank you for your help and you Wonderful Friends Help at Photo Scooter has a Mind of his own ;o)

may I ask what mistake did you make? I am new to showing also. Isn't it nice the way some people always step up to help new ones. But on the other side, there are show people that won't even speak to new people. I would have loved to have been at the show but alas!! Ky is just too far away.

what mistake didnt we make
 
Lets see if i can make a list of our mistakes at merced
Thurday Scooter pooped in the ring durring our down and back I never thought to take a poop bag in the ring
Friday our show bows broke .. I freaked out and Thank goodness for Katelin for lending us her extra bow
Saterday we showed in 12 to 18 months not realizing it was up to 18 months not the 18th month so ... we may loose our point that day
Sunday the Wonderful Women of yorkies hunted me down and got me to the show steward in time to swich to open class so I could show and not loose the point so NOW Info dog has Placed me as 2/R when we took 1/W/BW

That sounds about like some of my mistakes but I have always been in the right. Luck, I guess. My first girl and show, peed in the ring and the judge rudly told me to pick her up. I was mortified. The steward brought me paper towel s and sspray. i thought I was done. As I was walking out with my girl in my arms, the judge said well here and handed me a first place ribbon tio my surprise. last ocotober, just as my number was called to go into the ring, my other girl shook her head violently and her hair bow flew almost out of the arena . i stopped to get it and she got away. I yelled at her and screamed for "somebody to catch that dog. LOl Frantically I got her bow in and told the judge about it and she just laughed. gave her the last win she needed to make champion. Showing can be hilarious at times!!!!!!!.

LOL thanks btw where do you buy your show bows I need to get a surplus so that never happens again !!! we are just gonna keep plugging along till I learn to breath in the ring :p

here is where I buy almost everything. Plus you can google on E-Bay but ebay ddoesn't have too many red ones and those are my favorite.

Oh this is so heartbreaking. I just went thru info dog and it looks like he was in the 12-18 class Thurs, Fri and Sat (Fri & Sat were 1pt each)--I am not sure of the details but I think you might lose those points. Urgghhhh....

I am so glad they got you moved up on Sunday. Hopefully the recording mistake on Sunday is only on the infodog side and not in the judges book. If its infodog they can fix it really quickly. If not, you will need your win photo and ribbons as proof to submit to AKC.

Well I guess the saying Roll with the Punches can be used with This ... I talked to the shows Superintendent and she said I may not loose the points Friday and Saterday ...But I have to wait to see what Letter I get in the mail from AKC .. I keep saying that Handler Error Is my biggest Fear ... This one I could blame on AMY she did the sign up *grumbles* but I cant hand off the blame its Totaly my job no one elses I tryed to contact info dog today but no one returned my phone call ... I wonder if i could contact the club to see what the judges book has writen down Lets hope Sacramento is much smoother!!

Oh No. Jamie I'm so sorry for all this trouble. I thought you showed very well and hope you don't have to forfeit any points.

I just wanted to say we really enjoyed meeting you in Merced, and look forward to seeing you in Sacramento. Onward, huh Jamie. It's all a learning experience. :)

Not exactly sure where you're located, but I suggest you contact Mary (Mardelin) who lives in LA. Her bows have been requested by the YTCA for their roving specialty so this should tell you something as to their quality. There are so many different colors of red and she is wonderful matching the right color to compliment you dog. She always donates bows for the auction for our Bluebonnet YTC here in Texas which she is still a member of and it's always fun to watch people fight to out bid each other to get her bows..lol

I've found show people to be extremely nice and helpful. I know in this area when you enter the ring, it's competition, but before and after you're in the ring people are quite friendly. Most of the Yorkie people actually set up in the grooming area together and then go out to dinner afterwards. It's great fun!
I would think your UKC shows would be even more laid back.

I also show AKC. And yes, people can be very friendly Or not. At the Louisville show recently people were all friendly with each other and then when one would walk off the talk would begin about the one that walked off. one little group in particular. i guess how friendly they are and etc depends on what group you belong to. Most of the big name people were there. In fact, I had a nice long chat with Ava. She is about the nicest show person I have ever met. Always willing to go out of her way to help.

I here ya ! one lady was quite nice the first day and When we left made some nasty comments about us ;o) I have learned to take the good and Leave the Rest I made shure to Thank her and not participate in the Nasty !
