I think Scooter is colored just fine. He looks to be a beautiful dark blue. He is a puppy and the judges should not DQ puppies. But there are a few out there who will. Go to the thread FYI. Some of the DQ judges are listed there. I see more DQ's on lighter colored dogs than the darker ones. |

I think Scooter is very nice. How old is he? Kujo is cute too. Don't be discouraged by one judges opinion. Some judges will dq an older dog or even a younger dog if the head has not cleared. Most judges know it can sometimes take a couple of years for a yorkie's head to completely clear. |

Do NOT stop showing him. Remember, one judges too dark is the next day judges BOB. You have only one judges opinion. he is an absolute doll!!!!!! I, myself, have a gorgeous dark, I mean really, really, dark UKC champion. I did pull her from AKC when she nine months old and it became clear sshee is black and gold and was not turning. I shouldn't have pulled her because at the last AKC show, there were two or three of her same bloodline and all the same color and they did great. |
thank you all You guys are great I feel better about this now .. I love scooter in motion so much that it just tickles me !! hanford show is 4 days and starts this week Thur,Fri,Sat and sunday .. at the kings co fair ground .. scooter would love to meet your little girl .. he says he is SICK of travling with a French bulldog LOL |
I wouldn't stop showing him! I think his color is just fine! Don't let it discourage you. Like Dee said it's just one judge's opinion and most judges do know the standard. Good Luck!! Donna Bird Brooklynn's Yorkshire Terriers |

Your boy is going to do just fine with his AKC career. His coat is definitely blue and there is no mistaking that. :) I once told my husband the same thing about using a cat in the ring lol--it just gets them all riled up that it'd be perfect! Now just to find a way to fit one in your pocket.... j/k! I once had one judge in tears because I told the photographer to use the word "BUG!" before taking a win photo...when the photographer yelled it out Diesel got this look like "OMG WHERE!?!?" You've just gotta use the vocabulary that works when you are in there ;) Best of luck to you this weekend. We are entered in Rally the Saturday in Vallejo so I will definitely swing by and introduce myself. |
Go by your own intuition. Trust in yourself. He is just fine. Don't listen to just one judge. There are some judges out there that really do not know our standard. You may know more than them. |
