[QUOTE=gloriajean;2477631]Can the co-owner register a liter of puppies just like the owner or do both have to sign for the regisration of a liter? thanks.[/QUOTE I believe that both owners have to sign on for the litter registration and also if you don't own the stud the stud owner has to sign as well. Yes, Donna is correct. With a female both owner and co-owner have to sign the litter registration. For the stud, if there is a co-owner, it only takes one signature, either the owner or co-owner can sign. |
Question of the Night I know someone right now whom is co-owning a couple Yorkie puppies. Why does someone co-own instead of outright owning~? |
There are several reasons. Show breeders will often sell a show dog with a show contract and will remain on the papers as a co-ownership until the dog becomes a champion. It just gives added recognition and control to the breeder. Also, on some of your very nice show dogs you will see multiply owners. Part of that is because of the high cost of showing and campaigning a dog, a owner may take on a co-owner that will help with the cost of showing and also share in the glory. Some people least out their dogs and will remain on the papers and get puppies back in return. |
Thanks for the info. My friend's sister didn't go into too much when I was visiting with my Yorkie during our recent snow storm. She has 2 puppies from the co-ownership of some breeder or kennel, I don't recall. Plus she has an older Yorkie. The puppies are cute, but they are fat and barky. My Yorkie is so quiet compared to those little ones. Her older one usually barks, but with Maxwell being around she was quiet. |
You can count on all show breeders to sell their pups for show with co-ownership. It is just a norm now and totally needed in my opinion. T. |
