Smaller the yorkie, the more valuable?? Well, me and my baby Cherry were sitting at a cafe our side at night, and all of a sudden this women with her family comes up to me and goes crazy when she sees Cherry, starts hugging her and asking questions about her... She asked how much i got Cherry for and she said i got ripped off cuz for the priace i gave her, she said she would have been much smaller, But Cherry is nearly 5 months old and 2,7 pounds, she is a tiny girl...i don't know what she was talking about, she also said that the smaller yorkies are more expensive, is this true?she said with the money i gave to her i would have gotten a "tea cup" size...and i do not agree with using that term to this breed, it seems wrong to me.... She also said that Cherry was beautiful but not beautiful enough, i thought that was very rude!I love Cherry so much!i got angree when she said that! but did not say anything to her.. I think Cherry has the face and look of a Champion yorkie, i think the only thing about her is that she slightly has a arched back, not visible thought... anyhow, pls let me know what you all think about Cherry and her size? |
I think she is a great size for her age. not too big and not too small. I think that woman was rude as well as uneducated about yorkies.I have a 3 1/2 lb male that I don't take out as much because of people like this.I take my larger ones with me and still I get comments about the size.I adore the tinys but I worry so much more with him than the others, seems the smaller they are the more they like to be under your feet. She is gorgeous and I think she looks like the pics of the show breeders pups I have seen. |
Wow, she is the pup of a show breeder.absolutely stunning. forget those comments as she obviously knows nothing. |
Hi you know some people are really rude, I think your baby is so cute. |
For some breeders size it the only important criteria; for some people as well. Being ultra tiny is very appealing to some people, and they say this brings out their nurturing qualities. Really good breeders look for other qualities besides size, and never breed for tinies, but occasionally produce one, and since most breeders don't breed a female under 4-5 pounds these smaller dogs are sold as pet only. Some tinies are that way, because of genetics and are very healthy, and some are small because of health problems, such as liver shunt. There does seem to be competitiveness with some people as to who has the smallest dog, but I think you are wise to notice the other qualities as well. It does seem so many of our members with really small yorkies get that type of response from people, I just don't get it. By the way, any breeder who uses the term "teacup" doesn't know much about yorkies, and I'm glad you didn't buy your dog from her. |
1....SHE WAS RUDE 2....SHE'S AN IDIOT 3....See number's 1 and 2 :D Your baby is beautiful...Don't let the opinion of a obviously unqualified stranger make you feel bad about your beautiful girl. Yes some tiny "teacup" dogs are more expensive , but that's only because people ( like me :() who don't know any better buy the sales pitch and buy the dogs.. For her to even say anything to you like that should let you know the kind of person or breeder (and I use that term very loosely) she is , so don't give her a second thought. Your baby is stunning !!:D |

Hey there everyone! Thank you for the nice compliment, i will tell this to Cherry;)..lol!... Well, like you guys said, i don't think she knew what she was talking about since you can not even show a small yorkie under4,5 or 5 pounds... For me, Cherry has everything i was looking for in a dog like:compact body, short legs, small V shaped ears, short snout and small nose, confident look, perfect bite... I love her to death...i think when i have children in the future, i will love Cherry just as much as my children, she has the most cutest attitude and loving personality, i never knew i could love an animal this much in my life:)She full filled my life! anyhow, i still got really angree at that women! |

I have a 2.3lbs 6 months and 3 week old yorkie that is stunning. I can't go anywhere without having tons of people ask me about her. She is teeny and full of energy, not fragile and thinks she is a pitbull!! Beautiful baby indeed!!:animal36 |
