OK dim bulb here Need a littlehelp here
 
my 10 year old would love to start her puppy in some junior handling.We have never doe adog show but we are planning on going to a show this weekend and again next so she can see what there is I have been just not she,
With no breed clubs and 4h not doing th junior habdling Where would we start? We have no close breeders to show us the ropes.
\Where should we start?The breeders/showers we knwo are all in different dogs BIG dogs. I dont know how much stacking etc help they can be,
After we go to the shows to see if this is really what she wants to do then just start working n stacking and conditioning? Ringwork and such?
Also.if a dogshow is from a certain breed club can you enter it even though your dog is not a part of that club? Like bonnevill all breed club, could a person enter this show even though they are not part of that club?
More questions later
Oh and at the show what do you suggest she pay the most attention to

My daughter started with JR showmanship and she had a lot of fun. If you go to the show try and find the place where they have all the future entries on the table and you may find information on JR showmanship. There are even books available on Jr showmanship. You do not need to be a member of any club for your daughter to show at the shows but your dog needs to be AKC registered. You will need help in filling out your entries and I am sure anyone at the show can help you with that. Have your daughter watch the JR ring and maybe you can meet some of the other parents and maybe one can help you. Be sure to film the Yorkie ring too but remember the handlers in the Yorkie ring may not be as good as the Jr's. The best advice for your daughter is to pay attention to her dog first and then the judge. Sit at ring side and watch the Jr's handle their dogs and if possible take a video camera and film the Jrs and go home and watch it over and over, especially the JR that wins.

That's all the advice I have for now.....

Thanks for your info... I at least have a palce to start. I didnt make it to the ones this weekend as the roofers were STILL here. There is another weekend THIS weekend in fact soming up in Colorado so I may get to that one. It is supposed to be rainy.
I am going to go search up the books .
