Right now he does have a full tail. We are debating that now on docking it. I hate to do that. Leo insists that it be docked because the understanding with my friend is that we will show him and the tail willl hold him back in the ring. Which is unfortunate that AKC/Judges do not have the same mind set that European judges has. If they import a dog with a docked tail, they do not hold it against that dog. We exported one to my friend and she CH him with no problem and he did have a docked tail. But for that to happen here, I don't think there has ever been a CH with a long tail over here? IF there has I have never heard of it. Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |

I know what you mean Deana. This is the reason I had Frida's tail docked. I had promised Katalin I would show here. I feel that at this time in the ring showing AKC, in order to get them finshed easier - they must have a docked tail. Hopefully maybe this will change in the near future. We will just have to see and keep talking to the judges and delegates about this issue to persuade them to change their thinking. Frida's tail hair is growing out well. Here is a photo of her with tail. You cannot see it since it curls over my findger. |

I think that (in my opinion) most judges just will not give a win with points to one not docked at this time. I have heard of some winning, but very, very few! I do not expect them to change for a min. of 5 years, this is just an approx. We are just now seeing more imports in the ring here and it will just take pr and exposure to them being accepted. Just look how some judges are still DQing pups. |

There is a lot of exhibitors that dislike the fact people are importing dogs to be shown. Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |
I want to see him too :) Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |

LOL - I know. What is so funny is that the ones that say they hate it - have an import too or exported one or more of their yorkies. I do not think it matters - as long as the dog is sound and comes from a reputable breeder. We live in a world now that is smaller, so to speak. Things are changing and some have difficult with change, no matter what it is. When I was searching - no one had anything I liked or none available by some here in US. I was not going to settle. I had a good reputation from when I showed before, so I was on waiting lists. And I waited awhile and did my research. I had certain connections in Europe to make sure what I was getting was good. I did not go through "the back door" as some say. I just could not find anything here at the time. That is all. It was not a rush to get anything. I was not going to settle for less either. I think I did pretty good. I am showing and member of an all breed AKC club. No breed club in my area. I am doing my best to help the breed standard. So let them talk, dislike all they want. I do what I think is best for myself and our breed. I learned this a long time ago when I first was showing and got a Mayfair yorkie. Looks like you do what you think is best too, Deana. I am seeing more imports here now in the ring and they are winning. At least people are showing them and having them evaluated. |

I have imported some that were not up to par for my program but I have also bought here in the states that also were not up to par. I have one breeder in Europe that I am great friends with an trust 100% we work together. She told me the one thing I may not like with Paulie is his ears, they are bigger/taller than what I have had but they are in balance with his overall confirmation so I am perfectly happy with him. Leo and I make our choices based on our own opinions and I have learnt not to judge others by rumors and gossip, only by my personal experience with that person!!. We listened to others opinions like gospel when we were new and actually missed out on great oppurtunities only to find out later they bought the dogs that we had asked their opinion of and they told us oh no, that dog is not good they will only sell you junk... haha then they bought the dog?? Apparently they did this to more than just us. :( Live and learn!!!!!!! :) Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |
Docking is not allowed in Scandinavia, eithter. GB banned it too, if I remember it right. I've seen imports from France too, with full tails. Some places it's ok to show with a docked dog, but not do the docking. Other countries do not allow docked to participate in any competitions. |

I don't have the reputation it takes to get a puppy like you have. Katalin sold me the puppy based on a reference from someone else that knew her. I'm patient and I know it takes time to earn the peer respect required to purchase great blood. My boy has Comparis Blueprint in the third and fourth generation but that's a far cry from sired by CB. I have some pictures now, if I can get them to post. I haven't had good luck getting them to work in the past. |

Yes, I was very fortunate to have shown before and Katalin knew I was showing now and was dedicated, as well as able to grow and keep a show coat. She does not sell her pups to just anyone. She is also a judge too, I believe. There are some great breeders/exhibitors in Europe. Just look in the Yorky Club magazine. I talk weekly to some and they have some gorgeous, very sound yorkies. You just have to do your homework to make sure. It is just like here in US, some great ones here and not so good. Okay - I figured it may be a sibling or off spring. Name connection, noted. Can't wait to see photos. I thought that there may be more countries banning docking. I wish AKC judges would start giving more of the points in that direction. I like yorkies with and without a tail. |
4 Attachment(s) Ok we'll see if I have it figured out...here goes. He was napping when I got him up and gave him a bath followed by pictures...he's less than impressed by the days activities. Attachment 243178 Attachment 243179 Attachment 243184 Attachment 243185 |

I believe she's an international judge. That would make it easier to travel and show her own also. The pedigree is simply stacked with multiple Champion title holders. Of course a great pedigree is only valuable if it's attached to a great dog and that's not always the case. |
Paulie is Very Handsome. Sounds like he Loves his New Parents. |

Now back to Paulie...sorry Deanna. |
You know when I try to get a pic of a younger pup I like to get them on the floor and make whatever noise or use whatever toy will get their ears up and the very alert look and then you can get better idea of their natural confirmation and natural earset. Of course you have to be ready with the camera to snap a lot of pics. I don't have help most of the time but I am good at doing the toys/noise and the camera. I have done it enough LOL Deana Prestigeou Yorkies |
Oh, I love him! |
