I made a hard decision.... I shaved Bingo. And cried while I did it. It was so hard. I had to face the reality that I wouldn't be able to show him with a new baby. I didn't feel that it was fair to him to keep him in his long coat during the summer if I wasn't showing him. :( He has given me 3 gorgeous litters of babies now. He's happy as a clown in his new cut. It breaks my heart to think of how well he was doing and that I couldn't get him finished. So now my search is on for another boy to show in a yr. or so. I love being in the ring and I love the thought of being able to show one out of him down the road. For now, I will live vicariously through you guys! |
I'm so sorry you had to make such a difficult decision. Let his happy little face lick away those tears. I don't show, but I know there is so much time and energy and passion that goes into it, so I know this must be hard on you |
Dont you just hate taking that first cut out of a show coat!! It almost makes you sick. |
Yes, it did make me sick. With him being the first one to show, it was very heartbreaking. I really wanted to finish him myself. |
Aww Steph I am sure that was a very hard decision to make but you have to do what is right for you and you family. I am sure Bingo is enjoying his new do! You'll be back in the ring when you are ready! |
So sorry you had to make this decision and go through it, but you do have to do what is right for you and your family. I know how you feel - this was the reason I had to quit showing/breeding back in the 80's. I had two toddlers and it was so hard. I was in tears everyday and then would pile on my frustrations as soon as my hubby hit to door after work. I decided it was not fair to my dogs or my children. T. |
awww, I know you are hurting but deep down you know in your heart it is what's best . . . |
