I don’t want to sound really stupid but can you show a dog that is fixed? The reason I was asking was because ever since I got Kingston everyone said I should show him, keeping in mind I know nothing about showing I am not really considering it but I talked with a judge the other day and she was very impressed. I was just under the assumption they had to be intact to be shown and he is definitely being fixed.

No, they do have to be intact. The original purpose for showing is to evaluate the dogs for future breeding.

He is a very cute puppy!
Dogs can earn obedience and agility titles, this is different than earning their championship titles. I know a few people who do this and completely enjoy it!

Here is a link for some info on some things you can do with your Yorkie if you do not show him in Confirmation shows. *As the others said he can't be fixed and shown in confirmation because the reason we show in confirmation is to evaluate breeding stock.

FYI: An altered dog CAN be shown under certain circumstances:

CHAPTER 11, SECTION 8. A dog which is blind, deaf, castrated, spayed, or which has been changed in appearance by artificial means except as specified in the standard for its breed, or a male which does not have two normal testicles normally located in the scrotum, may not compete at any show and will be disqualified except that a castrated male may be entered as Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class. A dog will not be considered to have been changed by artificial means because of removal of dewclaws or docking of tail if it is of a breed in which such removal or docking is a regularly approved practice which is not contrary to the standard. Neutered dogs and spayed bitches would be allowed to compete in Veterans Classes only at independent specialties and/or those all-breed shows which do not offer any competitive classes beyond Best of Breed.

I know of this rule but is this not for Retired Broods and Studs Champions or not that have shown and or produced etc etc??

Not for a puppy that will be neutered and will never be a stud.
Thats how I understand that am I thinking correctly on this or not?

For veterans class it does not matter, but for stud and brood classes they must be on record as producing... they do not have to be champions... I'm also not sure if the are actually awarded any points... It's kindof a small show inside the show picking best veteran... Our club was asked if we wanted to allow altered dogs to be shown in Veteran or not... I will let you know more after our show this year

What puppy is in the picture? Yes they have, he tried to hump Lily for the first time the other day the funny thing is after I corrected him he left her alone then she tried to hump him what a night that was LOL. He has been very good about the humping the vet said he was maturing quickly but he is corrected very easily and besides being mouthy he listens very well.

A neutered/spayed dog can be shown in obedience and agility and do receive titles. I am not sure on the rules on agility as far as how the title is earned but in obedience: for a qualifying performance- the dog receives a "leg", after the 3 "legs" are earned, they receive the title "Companion Dog" or CD. (The CD follows the name of the dog as opposed to the CH (for champian) in front of the name. Then they can go on to earn other titles. They also earn "Points" towards receiving an Obedience Champianship.

If I'm not mistaken, you can enter a spayed/neutered dog in junior conformation, too.
