The Louisiana Kennel Club’s Dog Show this weekend!
 
The Louisiana Kennel Club’s 92nd Anniversary Dog Show is planned for June 14th and 15th at the Civic Center in Houma, Louisiana.
This will my 1st time attending a Dog Show.
Does anyone know who is showing their Yorkie at the show. I would love to meet them.
Will anyone from Yorkie Talk be attending?

I wish I could go but Homua is a little bit far for me......I was bummed because I missed this past dog show in my city....:(

I hope you have a good time at the show. Unfortunately, I looked at the breed counts and there are no Yorkies entered either day.

OMG - how can they have a dog show without yorkies???

i am disapointed - was looking forward to seeing some beautiful yorkies.

Louisiana shows don't usually have many Yorkies entered, especially in the southern part of LA. The Shreveport show sometimes has a pretty good entry. With the skyrocketing price of gas, I look for all the breed counts to drop at many of the shows. I hope you do go to the show. Hopefully there will be a few vendors there with neat products. Be sure to let us know how it goes.

Oh I will definatly check it out.

So what happens when only one dog is entered in it's breed?
does it automatically win?

If only one dog is entered they will usually get a first place ribbon and best of breed ribbon if they are a good representative of the breed. The judge always has the option of either giving a second place ribbon or withholding a ribbon if the dog is of poor quality.

There could possibly be some yorkies entered in obedience but there are just no yorkies entered in conformation for the Houma shows.

The Dog Show was Great!!!
I loved every minute of it!!! BUT no Yorkies at all!!!
I really enjoyed watching this one Judge. She always had a smile on her face & really looks like She Loves Her Job! Her name is Sandra Goose Allen.
She judged Sporting & Non Sporting classes today & she will be judging Terrier & Toy Classes tomorrow.
A pug won Best in Show today.

I am so glad you got to go. Are you going tomorrow too? It is too bad there were not any Yorkies there. You have some very pretty Yorkies. Have you ever thought about showing? Do you know what bloodline your yorkies are from?

The prce of gas is already having an effect. Entries in my area are way down and dogs that are entered are not showing up.

That what I was thinking. I have been following the show entries on Onofrio's website and it looks to me like the breed counts are really down. I don't plan on entering any shows until later this year. I really hope it does not hurt the Kennel Clubs.

I haven't really ever thought about showing.
But you never know - I might get the urge to now???
I ordered a pedigree on each of my Yorkies when I registered them.
The only one that I know of that has Champion Lines is Lil Stormy.
Stormy is Squeakers Grandaughter (Deana @ Prestigeous in WV).
Do you know her lines - Georgeous!!!

Now Scruffy looks to me to maybe have some champions in him But not on my pedegree form. Is there a way to check back further than the 3 generation pedigre?
