I've tryed so many different things that people have suggested for Connor. I've wrapped him with plastic wraps, bad idea broke the hair. I braided it, bad idea made him into the incredible matt monster and made me cry. I wrapped it in papers with and without oil, still made matts and broke hair. I put him in light oil and banded him, broke hair. I put him in heavy oil and banded him, broke hair and gave him dandruff. I put him in heavy oil and left his hair down, no matts but he lost about 1/2 inch of coat at the bottom in the middle. Now he is in heavy oil and only has 2 bands holding all of the hair very loosely up on his back, so far no matts and I'm not noticing much breakage. For Connor it has to be up off of the floor but the less bands the better as they rub and break his hair. My first show dog had to have the most difficult coat of course. After this the rest will seem like a breeze, right? Good luck in the never ending search for the best way to keep your gal in show coat! |
