If your stud is line bred and he is not related to the mother of your puppy, then that breeding would be considered an outcross breeding and not a line breeding. Line breeding is when both parents have common ancestors 2 or more generation back. Many of your most famous show dogs are created from line breeding and some from inbreeding. You have to know your lines, the strengths and the weakness, when you attempt line breeding and inbreeding. As for keeping the female pup for your breeding program, if the parents have all the qualities your are looking for then keep her and evaluate her later. You don't know until the puppy gets older what faults might develop and if she is the quality you are looking for. |
