good to know...good luck showing! |
I guess I band a little different than everyone else. I put four bands down the side and then pull the hair up so it won't drag the ground. One thing to remember is do an off center part in case you break hair. If the part is off center and you should to break some hair, it won't show when the hair is parted correctly. I even go one step farther and do a zig zag part. I took a picture but I could not get it to post. I can never get anything to post to YT. I will have to wait on Summerwinds. Tami, Robbie and I were given grooming lessons by Arlene Muzquiz, the owner of the Pure Paws Company, and Saul Romero of the Pure Paws International Handling Team. I bought the products that they recommended. So far, I am very pleased. |
I have a question on banding...Do any of U have other Yorkies that run around and play in their rooms/U're house with each other that is banded or has ponys in? If Yes then how in the world do U keep U're other Yorkies from ripping them out? I have Sofie, Sage and Weezie all in their Yorkie room together and they pull, play, bite, tug each others ponys out. I have them in Terry cloths now, I was just told to watch them eating them as they may not pass them, they do eat them and so far have passed all of them. Now I'm scared to death, gonna order latex bands and see if that will do any good, but now I have to wonder if they won't do the same only break more coat as they pull them out. Sofies' coat is getting long fast and it won't be to much longer before her's reaches the ground how will I band her? I don't want to keep her crated all the time or in a room alone to wear bands. Please can U all tell me what to do in order to save their coats, bangs ect. :) |
wrapping jackets are satin PJs that protect wraps. I also use them when my dog is banded. You have to be very careful. It is very easy for another dog to chew the band/wrap and take the hair with it. Quote:

Saul trimmed my boy's coat and showed me how to groom him for the ring and he looks amazing! He finished 2 weeks later! Arlene spent a lot of time helping me with my Maltese. She is much easier to care for on Pure Paws. I am a true believer! |

I don't wrap either, and thought that maybe I should be but Saul's regimen has been working wonderfully. Laurie, I wanted to follow them home too. I've never met such nice folks so willing to help out a fellow exhibitor.:aimeeyork:thumbup::aimeeyork |
I totally and absolutely agree. Arlene is one of the nicest people, and she is so freken sweet. And Saul... well he's just to funny!!! I'm so tempted to drive to her house, go to shows with her and Saul and try and finish my bitch. Every major we have had since last May has broken. :( That's all my bitch needs to finish. Gets sorta expensive entering, getting ready (both mentally and groomingly), to have them break so often. But on the other hand I'm confident I will finish her this year some how. I'm so glad to see other people using the line also. I started to use it loved it so much that I asked for the distributorship for AZ. I think my absolute favorite is the Shine Spray.. I even use it on my daughter to get tangles out. :) Just good stuff!!! Roni |
i have no idea...heheh...but your baby is cute! |

I bathe once to twice a week depending mostly on how dry it is (I live in AZ). I first use Pure Paws Bright Shampoo (which will remove all the gunk, oil, and grime from the coat) but won't damage coat!!!! Then I use the Reconstruting Shampoo (which puts the essential oils and stuff back in the coat). Then I use the Moisturizing Condidioner mixed with alpha kari oil, or I use a concoction of Pure Paws oil and Pure Paws Cream Conditioner it just depends on what I have at the moment. I take my shower sprayer down her back once really quick, put her in a towel and blow dry (or just brush and Run!!!) depending on how hot it is here. For the top knot I use the cream conditioner as often as needed usually once a day or every other day. Again all of this is depending on the weather. Sometimes it is a tad humid and I dont' have to do as much. Most of the time it is dryer than death valley so I bathe more often and use cream more often. Something else I found that works for me (which may not work for everyone) is I NEVER brush between baths. The only time my girl gets brushed is if she has just had a bath or she is at the shows. And when we are at the shows I use the Shine spray or the Finishing Spray to put moisture in the coat so I am not brushing a dry coat. And even then I try and keep the brushing to a minimum. Thats about it. If I can answer any other questions please feel free to ask. Roni |
I love the bright shampoo for the Yorkies. It is wonderful for removing urine stains on my boys and to remove eye stains. I brush faces and topknots every day or so with PP Ultra Shine. I only brush body hair after a bath. Dirty coats break. |
Rony, can you recommend right concentration and correct method how to use Ultra Cream Conditioner ??? 1. When we use it for rinse as conditioner 2. For spray bottle for daily use. We have a full not used bottle. Thanks!!! |
